Are there any monsters that are currently not in any D&D book (whether you saw it in a movie, in a book, comic, etc.,) that you think would be cool in D&D?
I think it would be fun to have some of the more unique Zelda enemies have statblocks. Like-Likes, Peahats, Octoroks, Dodongos, Wizzrobes, etc.
All of these monsters sound so fun, but I have one in particular I would love to see. I love the Expanse series, and I think that some rules for the protomolecule monsters in book two would be insanely cool. I’d also like to get stats for some Brandon Sanderson creatures in 5e. Mistwraiths, chasmfiends, shardbearers, Knight Radiants, Steel Inquisitors, villainous monks (I forgot their exact name…), Elantrians, and more.

Brandon Sanderson does have a lot of interesting things that would be cool in Dnd. I could see Seons being an option as a familiar.

Hmm. Why are all these questions so hard to answer. Not anything particular but stuff more like hags. As if to say humanoid ish monsters that embody society’s problems. Maybe like one for each of the 7 deadly sins.

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.
May each word that I speak be backed by each of my teeth.
Protomatter from the Expanse, I think is a great hook. I don't know if itself would be a great monster in and of itself, but if I were to run with it, it could be the cause or catalyst for an incursion of star spawn and other aberrations, with some faction of the Far Realm (for me it would be Illithids, always Illithids) being the equivalent of the Gate Builders.

Yesssss. Illithids are my babies. They are so fun. Especially when you add in a gnome…
I love me some flayers. In a noir-style campaign I'm in, there's an illithid colony called La Famiglia Cerebrale that's pretty much just the mafia, controlling things from the shadows (of which there are many) and routinely making people disappear. Perhaps the best result of flayers being the mafia is that Deep Speech is canonically Italian. And my character can speak it.

That’s great! In our group we have a running joke that boarding my flying vehicles requires a check from the FTSA… The Flayer TSA. They have tentacles that check every, and we mean every nook and cranny. Full body cavity search is their thing. This evolved from the Harpell mage who used magic to switch the brain with the fat in the butt so that mind floaters couldn’t eat his brain. This took place during the Drizzt series, somewhere in the middle…
Sorry to have been quiet, but been playtesting some stuff and it was decided to go back to start on a few items around classes.
That and the new job is much, much more brain and labor intensive than I was probably ready for, lol.
I am just poppingin to say hi, but since it is me, allow me to regale you with a long winded 17 pages of events and tales that start in the desert city of Ara

Lol. Welcome back! I find I've got less to say lately. But here's a Question: Has anybody got the D&D recipes book, Heroes' Feast? I have it and I've made one thing from it, a blackberry lemon apple pie iirc. Pretty good!
Buy your pie crusts premade!! It's so not worth the effort to make them from scratch

Mind Flayers and Elder Brains are neat, though I've never actually used them. The Illithid + Dragon combo from Fizban's is epic though.

I've been looking at it, but I just can't afford it. A gem-encrusted bowl worth at least 1,000 gp? Too rich for my blood!

Ah. Need a loan? I just finished up looting some adventures from the Golden Vault. I’m rolling in coins. Speaking of things I stole in those adventures… Anyone know how to heal the mind of someone taken over by the Book of Vile Darkness? It’s kind of a problem. And speaking of that… I also need some cheap castings of true resurrection if anyone knows a cleric.
Oh I forgot, I also made orc bacon. If I'm being honest the smoked/salted flavor that came with the bacon kinda overpowered everything else. And thick cut bacon just NEVER gets crispy it seems. But with thinner, unflavored bacon (does such a thing exist?) I bet it would be excellent.
It's a candied bacon with brown sugar, orange juice, red pepper I think?

On the point of monsters I would like to see, well...
I am an absolute fiend for Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. There are constructs and golems, and I would like to see the mechanical biome builders and the hunter killers come to fruition.
