Lol. Welcome back! I find I've got less to say lately. But here's a Question: Has anybody got the D&D recipes book, Heroes' Feast? I have it and I've made one thing from it, a blackberry lemon apple pie iirc. Pretty good!
Buy your pie crusts premade!! It's so not worth the effort to make them from scratch
My friend, who is probably one of my favorite players does - and she happens to be an incredible cook.
She made something when the book first came out, but what it was has long been lost to this aged, old memory of mine.

I've had a buzz cut irl for years. The old avatar was sort of aspirational -- I've been trying to find a wig I'm really happy with -- but I thought it might be good to try and appreciate where I'm at now, instead.
Edit: I never liked the nonbinary flag colors, but lately it's grown on me.
Those of you who make your characters on DDB. Get ready to move away as the new 5e Nexus is coming out! This website is the home of the Pathfinder Nexus, the best digital character sheet ever made, and now they are making one for 5e that will allow the use of 3PP products!
My issues with DDB's character generation system and limitations notwithstanding, I am disinclined to run off to Kobold because, well, um, err, I am sorta back to start in a lot of ways and the basis for it is that the traditional classes don't 'work" for the world I built.
The playtest (a month of it) went well in may respects, but the players felt that I wussed out, lol. And that Magical Girls wwould be more clerical, and that I was mean to paladins, and that pretty much most of what we built didn't "fit" the world -- so I am back to working on classes. Trimming it down to 15, and I am doing a Cleric class that is much more a Priest and not a fighter (but is support based) as the example class to show how to create them for a 16th one.
Also, I overpowered the classes, and didn't power up Specialties (akin to Feats) enough. One thing they did like was how I got rid of "subclasses" and did the Specialty thing, though -- it allows people to create some wild combinations.
THe new mechanics, though, wow, they were a hit. A random blizzard rolled through during a travel leg and the folks like me (who have been playing forever) loved the whole effects of the cold bit and the way that weather can be a risk. Also, the shift away from some terms linked to disability stuff was popular -- downside: most of it is scratch paper based right now, so i have to get in and redo the rule book to a great degree.
I like Kobold's stuff, mind you -- Pathfinder is very much part of why I ended up getting several new players to this playtest. I was surprised, I didn't think people wanted all that much more crunch, and since I used ideas from the playtest releases for next generation D&D, it really upped the way that players engage in combat without it becoming too much of a slog..
No new deadline -- it was agreed I was on the right track, but I needed to adapt the classes, and we had a long talk about them and how each class would fit into the world as a whole (so I no longer have warlocks and sorcerers, and warlocks lost big bigtime -- only two votes out of 38), and we refined the weapon techniques a bit more (toned down a couple or shifted them to higher levels, added a bunch of new ones).
It really ****s with the new playtest set up where weapons have mastery stuff -- but the underlying idea is similar, just execution is different. So my new deadline is unstated, but I am working on the classes one at a time again. Sigh.
My fourth was spent reading a book next to a slightly upset pup, lol, I grilled a steak last night outside and the early fireworks from nearby freaked her the hell out, so we went in early and had a nice quiet evening. I even rewatched Nimona, lol.
I also realized I have never done an adventure based on the Seven Samurai/Magnificent 7. Never. WHich is kinda shocking given it is exactly the kind of adventure that plays well for a game like the sort I like to run, lol.
I am also interested in this Phandelver thing they have coming -- the intro adventure is very popular among my folks, and could be fun to localize, and expanding on that would make it a worthwhile option. Been a very long time since I was really interested in a set of linked adventures that are published.

Yeah, fireworks can be really annoying for me at least to be honest.
I think they are fun. It would be nice if our neighbors had better aim though. I mean, it can't be that hard to shoot at the sky right? Why do they keep rocketing towards us?

Naw. D&D Beyond has everything in one place, for me. And unless this "Nexus" supports Beyond20 add in, no one in my games is going anywhere. lol
Yeah, fireworks can be really annoying for me at least to be honest.
Agreed. Aside from the undue stress it causes my dogs (and my cats when they were alive). Those who have PTSD from wars and stuff, it plays havoc.
And generally - not worth the 10 minutes of explosions and bang-bangs, then sit in traffic for 2 hours trying to get home (here in Southern California anyway).

Nah, I refuse to believe I've aged.
No matter how long and grey my beard may be...
You're probably just old. That's the logical answer. And it's definitely not because somebody cursed that headband of intellect you found. Definitely not.

Pass on that nonsense.
I have always wondered why Americans celebrate their freedom with things that cause trauma for those who fought for their freedom.
I live on the top of a hill where I get a good view of the surrounding city so I don't have to go anywhere to see it. We also have about thirty to forty minutes of illegal fireworks that are much more exciting than the city's legal ones.
We just use the day as an excuse to have friends over and party and see people we don't often get a chance to see.

Oh no. I don’t recommend that anyone switch to Pathfinder. I’m just letting everyone know that their character creation and access to unofficial content will likely be far more comprehensive and easy to use than DDB. I was one of the earliest playtesters for the Pathfindr Nexus and it’s really fantastic.
I've had a buzz cut irl for years. The old avatar was sort of aspirational -- I've been trying to find a wig I'm really happy with -- but I thought it might be good to try and appreciate where I'm at now, instead.

I think (but am not certain) that it will offer the ability to convert characters from DDB to Nexus. Even if it doesn’t it’s got much faster character creation. And I have a cure for feeling old. Anytime I feel like the world is running away I just play some D&D. The world comes back after a while when it realizes that I’m not coming to it.
Question: Is it balanced to give a level 4 Arcane trickster elven rogue an ability that allows them to move through solid surfaces that are at most 1 foot in width (with a limit of 1 minute once per short rest)? Lady Agatha, a banshee, gave them the ability.
