The King's movement only gets him so far, about to the middle of the room. Not-Yvonne grimaces, their eyes turning to an inky void imbued with dread power. They glare at the King, magically targeting him with a foul curse. The King needs to succeed a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw, otherwise they fall unconscious, which would break their concentration on Telal's banishment.
*This should be interesting*

*Welp, there goes that plan ;)*
Your mental fortitude protects you from the harmful magic. Not-Yvonne looks frustrated.
*Sorry lmao, banishment is a DM's worst nightmare, I know that all too well. I usually stay away from it, I just know that the king would do anything in his power to save the Guild*
The king continues to run back towards the guild.

Rowen eyes Not-Yvonne warily. “Can we agree to a truce for now?”
Not-Yvonne does not respond, clearly in pain but too filled with anger to back down. They have almost entirely melted down to a horrid ooze, only a thin vaguely-Yvonne-shaped sludgy monster remaining.

You see 2 large machines that are using chains to pull demons and constructs up from the depths. You also see a wooden building that might function as a sort of base of operations.
(How long does the appearance transforming thing last for?)
He approaches one of the machines, just checking it out for the moment.
(Only a hour, for Yondor's, but the men have the 2 hour long potions. Which is how long Yondor instructed them to explore before meeting back up on the hill.)
It seems to just be a simple pulley, manned by about 10 strong looking constructs. Every so often its reeled up, and 30 or so creatures are transported to the surface.
(Cool cool, thanks)
*Alr I'm trying to be big brain here, bear with me*
So I'm imagining something similar to this:
So I'd like to ask you: If Yondor cast Enlarge/Reduce, which would be more effective in rendering a pulley system crane useless? Enlarging the crane arm so it topples into the pit? Or Reducing the chain so it isn't long enough to reach creatures at the bottom.
*The second one most likely. Or if you wanted to be super big brained, you could smallen one of the chain links so it breaks under the weight of the system*
*Yea I was also considering that along with a lot of other things, but didn't know what you would say. SO. *
Yondor casts Enlarge/Reduce quietly, targeting the already weakest-looking chain to shrink it and hopefully make it even weaker. Preferably one near the top, too, so the whole chain just falls into the pit.

*Since even half damage is enough to kill, I'm forgoing the save.*
When the fireball explodes, there is a tortured scream for but a second, and when the flames disperse there is nothing but water on the ground. The few membranes remaining on the walls after Telal was forcibly banished slowly begin to wither away and crumble into dust. The dust doesn't look safe to inhale, though, so I'd advise you two save your celebrations for until you leave the area.

As one of the links is shrunk, it quickly snaps under the weight of the rest of the chain. The whole thing, apart from the very top links, going falling into the gape. You hear the cries and shouts of the workers as they stress about what happened, and become more and more confused.

“That wasn’t Yvonne,” Rowen reassures him. “That was a fake, a simulacrum corrupted by that Telal creature. I talked to the real Yvonne on my sending stone. She told me what to do.” Despite her calm demeanor, Rowen seems really upset.
