The Remnants finish pillaging the village, and return to the Hive, with new initiates in tow.
One of the elders (Elder 2) look at the Hive from the distance. "Wait, of course! This is the work of the Hive! They fit all of the descriptors-- they have Fire in their domain, and they conquer and pillage villages all of the time! Of course they would try to sieze this city!"
(Elder 4) "You're correct! Who else could it be? We must stop their plans!"
(Cogintius) "Never thought the Swarm would try to kill me... But they have become much more aggressive recently. Send a diplomat to the hive."
And so, a random mortal gets teleported to the Hive entrance by Cogintius. They have a telepathic link with him, so he may negotiate with the Swarm from the city.
"Uh... Swarm... Show yourself! We know what you plan to do!" The mortal sounds incredibly nervous.

"Yes! And it's your fault!"
A voice rings out in the minds of the Swarm, the human, and Cogintius and his elders. "As entertaining as this conflict is, we are on a schedule here."
*Showtime >:D* An illusionary screen shows to the Swarm showing the events.
The crowd stands back from the fire pillar, even further then before. It seems the aura of fear got bigger. The pillar might have expanded, too, but people are too scared to figure out whether or not it did. Cogintius and the four elders are examining the pillar when suddenly it vanishes just as fast as it appeared, revealing 18 figures.
17 of the figures are regular mortals, it seems-- no divine aura or anything radiates from them. Nobody can see their faces, as they wear hooded robes the color of darkness. They also wear capes, with a symbol imprinted onto each one-- a dead tree, no leaves, and golden roots that spread the gold throughout the tree. But when it gets to the branches, the gilded gold fades until none is left.
The 18th figure is a Will, it's clear. Not a god though, he radiates a fiendish aura. This is a demon. For the occasion, he wear a fine robe, which also has the dead tree symbol imprinted on the back.
"People of this World, we come to you with a message. I am Faltros, demon patron of the Godless Ones." He gestures to the mortal cultists surrounding him. "These Seventeen shall undergo a ritual, to make them stronger. No longer shall the gods rule over us with an iron fist!" The cultists remove their hoods. Most of the Seventeen is random people, but one face stands out. Dave, the former Leader of Normacy, is alive and well and in the Godless Ones.
Cogintius walks up. "You all seek to overthrow us? Pathetic! Especially with that fool Dave working for you." He takes out his spear, but Faltros shakes his finger at him. "Now, Cogintius, you should know of all gods never to disturb a ritual!" He waves his other hand and chunks of rock come out of the ground and hover over the onwatching croud. "You wouldn't charge at us despite it endangering mortals lives, would you?" The crowd is too paralyzed with fear to move. The cultists are expressionless. They know it's a bluff. Cogintius doesn't, so he puts away his spear reluctantly.
The cultists all pull out a knife and slit their hand in perfect unison. Instead of blood flowing out normally, it floats through the air slowly, into Faltros's right hand. Once blood has been collected, he closes his hand. The blood begins flowing normally from the wounds. Then, the blood that flew burns in Faltros's hand, causing flames to shoot up through the cracks between the fingers in his fist. The cultist's cuts sort of reverse burn, closing them with fire.
Faltros removes the rocks above the crowd. "There. It has been completed."
"And now, it shall be ended!" Cogintius fires a ray of divine light at the cultists. However, it bounces right off. Infernal runes flash around the new Warlocks in a sort of shield. "What?"
"And you call us pathetic. Anyways, join our revolution against the gods, and enter our new era!" Faltros faces the mortal crowd as he says this. This whole event has shown as an illusionary screen in the town square of every village and town. He raises his hand into the sky, and the pillar of flame comes back down from the sky, enveloping him and the Seventeen Warlocks. When the pillar disappears again, they are gone, with only one thing left as a reminder of their presence-- the tree symbol, imprinted onto the pavement of the square.

Cogintius and the elders are still consulting and trying to figure out the cause of the fire pillar.
Speaking of the fire pillar, it's still burning, heated and strong, as shadowy figures lie in wait in it.
