I see. If Crotalus is indeed up to something it is not my place to disclose that, as he is now the king that succeeded Herionidus, and it is simply against my nature to betray my former bearer’s legacy. I will neither confirm nor deny he is seeking to cause chaos within your walls.
"When he returns from what he is doing, ask him to meet with me here."
I will. But first, I may ask, what has changed since Herionidus died? I only recollect events from before then and am mostly unaware of present events anywhere but the desert.
He thinks for a second. "First off, Faltros was banished from this realm, and if he shows his face again near civilization he shall be wiped off of the face of the Earth. The Godless Ones have been spared, as they realized Faltros was merely using them as pawns. Second, the Swarm has become an Overgod. Third, Herionidus's valley has been overrun by blood sucking creatures, and overall strange occurrences are happening in general."
*Here*
I had been vaguely aware of the events at the Valley of Herionidus… but the swarm is an Overgod? Is that what happened after Herionidus died? The swarm took their place…
"Yes, they did."
I see… why not just have killed Faltros when you had the chance?
"He had been defeated. I figured that he had been shown we could easily strike him down, and that if he was banished he would not interfere. Unless if he is causing the troubles in the city occuring now, my theory was correct as far as I'm aware. (It's not. But Cog doesn't know that.) Additionally, I figured that if I were to kill him, I would be no better then him."
“I see. And you seek Crotalus because you have suspicions he is somehow involved?”
The people of the slightly overgrown superstructure have came to a mutual decision. They decided it might be good to get to know other groups of people nearby, and have dispatched a small company of merchants to head to the City of Order to hopefully establish a trade route, and good relations.
Some of the obvious things they bring with them are exotic plants with unique features, and large reptilian eggs.
They come across guards, protecting and marching around the city. One stops to meet the traders. "Who may you be?"
"Merchants, but also gift-bringers! We come from our home above the river, SR City. We have been living quite secluded for the past couple years of our current existence, and decided it was best to reach out to nearby peoples and establish good relations. We are also following the great Computer's advice, to meet new people."
Some of them step forward and present gifts, including seeds of the plants mentioned earlier, the eggs (in small wooden and metal incubators), golden-threaded scarfs and turbans, and their unique extremely lightweight spears. All as peace/friendship offerings.
They discuss among themselves for a second. "Very well. You may pass. Cogintius is currently away on other business, so you shall speak to either the elders or another member of the Mythos of Order."
They seem satisfied with this. "We would love the opportunity to meet the elders, yes. Many thanks. How could we find an audience with them?"
"Simply walk towards the Tower of the Order Mythos. You can't miss it." The guard points to a large clocktower reaching up to the sky, on a small mountain in the center of the city.

A black-scaled yuan-ti abomination with turquoise eyes tracks them closely as they pass near the swamp. He holds an oddly-shaped spear and hangs back a few dozen meters.
There is a teenage girl accompanying them, and her bored, wandering eyes notice the snake-like person. She isn't startled, but has never seen anything quite like them and slows her pace a bit, staring and giving a small friendly wave.
He flicks his tongue lightly and approaches the group. “The Lady of the Swamp sends her humble emissary to inquire on your wares.”
She smiles and nods, then holds up a hand telling him to wait. She taps the shoulder of one of the male leaders in her group, tells him of the yuan-ti's intentions. Him and the others smile happily as well, then the man steps forward.
"Our most humble acceptance of your Lady's inquirey! So glad to make an acquaintance. Is there any type of product you're looking for specifically? We have a variety of tools, crops, eggs, apparel, and weapons, with more of all of that back at our home."

Interesting. Well, do you have any other theories about what could be causing the nightmares?
One of the Vampires from the Red Festival has made significant progress scaling the cliffs, making it nearly halfway up. But Dawn draws nearer and so it must flee back to its crypt until it can continue the next night. Some of the thousands of humans trapped in the Festival’s walls have set up large camps with wooden walls and defenses, fiery torches lighting the entire way around the wall. The weak and sick stay at the center, while the others who are more able bodied stay near the edges as guards. They just need to hope that their defenses can last for the night. During the day, they repair and tend to the sick.
A small squadron of yuan-ti with strange lashed armor and harpoons stake out the edge of the Festival.
The sun has almost risen, and they notice the six shadowy, robed figures of the Gravediggers all meeting up at the tree of Herionidus, which is an enormous, hundred foot tall withered tree that is only just starting to bloom with life again. It has a few white and pink flowers, and a couple of dark green leaves growing in clusters. Nestled in its giant roots is a tunnel leading to below the tree, but it’s too dark to make out details. There are, say, 10 large groups of people in the giant Valley that have set up defended camps. Of all the people in the valley, around half are in these camps. The others are scattered throughout, hiding in clusters of bushes and trees or in small cave openings or by the raging river.
The sergeant motions for the soldiers to split up. Half head in the direction of the nearest camp, and the other make for the Tree.
The nearest camp is on the smaller side of them, and is situated around a small grove of trees, some dead and some living.
the soldiers heading for the tree see the six gravediggers walk into the tunnel underneath the tree and into the darkness. One of them, the last one, looks back quickly from the tunnel to see if they are being followed. Make a stealth check.
The yuan-ti approach the camp. Their leader hails the humans. “We come bearing arms in alliance.”
Stealth: 211688109
One of the guards at the wall looks towards them with confusion.
”Alliance? What? You want to help us?” The Yuan Ti also notice that all of the humans have bright violet eyes, a trait shared among all Herionidians.
all but the first two of the Yuan Ti are spotted by the gravedigger, who snarls and bares her bloodstained teeth. She yells into the crypt tunnel and slowly, two more of the gravediggers emerge, the two following the first identical to each other, but mirrored, having the same scar across their eye but on different sides of the face. They stay just outside the crypt and don’t move, just watching for now.
“Indeed. The Lady has sent us, and she offers you asylum, as has she offered to other Herionidians.”
The four who were seen stand in solidarity, unafraid. The two who weren’t spotted continue slowly making for the Tree.

The former god of death, Herionidus, was killed by a greater Will called the swarm and his death caused the valley he lived in to be taken over by a pack of six vampires, his former priests, and his crown became sentient and declared the god of the desert to be the new Undying King. *anyone can use any domains whether they’re already being used or not, but ones that aren’t being used right now I believe are Plague, earth, water, wind, and Revelry and Decadence. The old death god Herionidus was also a decadence and revelry god but you know he’s dead*

Only once… well, it seems someone else is out to destroy your city, so you should probably prepare for another attack. Just my advice.

No, and no. But I am simply using common sense. They are plotting to attack, so they are disrupting the city and causing chaos in order to weaken defenses. You shouldn’t let them.
