 Jack steps in and pulls you aside. Whispering in your ear he tells you that he cast Zone of Truth, and the truthfulness of it's answers should no longer be a problem. All out of earshot of the ghoul, of course.

Jack responds in a firm but respectful tone to Suire, saying, "Violence will only make it want to talk less and avoid the truth. Our best chance is to take it slowly and calmly, and everyone gets what they want in the end." He slowly releases Suire and begins to walk back to the group interrogating the twice-dead individual.

"Everyone but me" Suire walks off snarling to himself and muttering curses and hexes

*Everyone: ooh a good mystery*

*Suire: mother I crave violence*

The glowing orange eyes of the Egregore shine into the room. It giggles (imagine Jack Skellington but deeper) as it reaches a long arm inside. The black skin flays off as though it were burning away, revealing a mass of corpses and random objects melded together with black wire. The bodies range from imperial ghouls to poor fishermen lost to the sea. The orange light shines from the inside, and what looks like a horde of ghosts struggle to escape from the holes. The "fingers" of the arm twiddle before they wrap around the ghoul's ankle.

"Perhaps you'd better speak up. Quiet people get forgotten the fastest." Comes the voice from the skull hanging in the doorway.
