The hajj is indeed normal. Most, if not all religions and cultures have or have had at some point a pilgrimage, as part of what they do, for various reasons. Furthermore, your argument is based on the idea that normal and pleasant are mutually exclusive. That is not even remotely close to what I said, and to argue against that claim would be just be attacking a straw man. I said that normal and pleasant are not equivalent. Something can be pleasant despite being abnormal, such as posting on these forums. Or it can normal and unpleasant. For example, as you said, in Ancient Greece, in certain times and areas, it was considered normal to walk around in the nude. You know what else was considered normal? Having sexual relations with young boys. As a fully grown man. Would you say that is pleasant, despite the fact that it was indeed considered normal?
Slavery was normal across the world for thousands of years. Slavery is far, far from pleasant. Segregation, public executions, oppression based upon religion, income, where you live, and even murder. All of those things at some point or another were considered to be normal. Yet I would call none of them pleasant. If you, or anyone for that matter, would be to speak otherwise, I would be deeply concerned.
I don’t entirely disagree with the idea that people have gotten far more soft, but the example and reasoning you used were heavily flawed.
