[Idk, Stingy Eyes don't seem to do that much damage, if you consider what they did to Jonathan, the only real damage was to his windpipe that prevented him from using Hamon, if it had hit anywhere else he could have recovered. If we consider Jonathan to be a Level 20 Monk (which is VERY generous) I'd say it only take maybe 3 of his 20 hit dice to recover from a single attack, so 3d8 damage]

[If lasers were such an effective weapon, surely DIO would have used them more often, especially since his Stand is close range. I'd say the only explanation is that they're either fairly ineffective or take a toll on him. Same with Straizo and the other vampires shown, hand-to-hand combat is clearly much better than lasers]

 *Johnathan is minimum lightspeed. Those eyes completely go through someone. On top of that Don is the first vampire, which means his control and power would be much higher than the regular. It is pretty high but it shouldn't be that low.*

[Wait, Don's the first vampire? Surely that would put him at a similar age to the Pillar Men, so how does that work unless Niverde is actually his couple millenia's worth of greats grandson. But that's beside the point. The bit I think is more important to focus on is that although the beams go straight through, they are much less effective then they appear. Two bullets cleanly through the neck would kill anybody, no matter how strong they are, so unless Dio managed to miss every key nerve and blood vessel in the neck, of which there are hundreds every few milimetres, so that's out of the question, the Stingy Eyes are less effective than just a regular gun.]

[I agree that maybe the damage should be a little higher, but a max level lightning bolt is WAY over the shown power in canon. I don't even think Star Platinum's Ora Ora Rush reaches that level]

 *Yes he is the first vampire. He knew Kars, even though it was a passing sort of deal. Niverde is very many greats but he doesn't know that, he just knows him as his great grandfather. Also people have taken things that should kill them all the time. Look at part 5. There was a guy who took SEVERAL bullets to the brain and survived, among other times. Metallica is a stand that should kill its target every time, and yet it doesn't. Jojo's is just a bunch of bull bro and I love it.*

[Damn that's pretty cool. I agree, Jojo has some WILD moments where characters should have just straight up died, kinda gets funny how after Part 4, there's always a Stand User that can heal even the worst wounds to make up for the crazy stuff that happens (Crazy Diamond, Gold Experience, F. F.), but still, if we're gonna have it that Stingy Eyes does crazy damage, the characters should get a massive health boost to make up for it.]

 *Okay. The way I kept it from people needing to have a massive health boost is Don not using his vampiric abilities. So no Stingy eyes at that level.*

Vampires are really strong, so I always thought that if/when Don gets defeated, there'll have to be a tonne of plot armour and convivence introduced, otherwise he could just slaughter anybody, stand or not. Always waters down the end of Stardust Crusaders for me knowing that Dio could have killed all of them in seconds.]
