*No, like, to denote that a character is speaking. Proper punctuation makes you look smart and can even help you get a job later in life.*
The giant man shakes his hand. "I usually know what lurks in the darkness, actually. A life of study in the right areas can help with that."

*So my spirit idea is twin wolves known as Hunter and Gatherer (though my character will have his own names for them). Hunter is large and monstrous shadowy black wolf with glowing red eyes and Gatherer is a smaller and leaner wolf of soft golden light. Together they give their human the power to survive even in the harshest environments, being able to track and hunt all manner of elusive game and find and identify all manner of flora and fauna for consumption and other practical uses. This allows the human to make all manner of strange but delicious and nutritious dishes, as well as creating various medicinal tonics, ointments, and treatments for various ailments.*
*Hundreds of tiny, seemingly insignificant smoke demons collected over a lifetime of working with flames. They allow for the creation of illusions by manipulating the sensory effects of smoke, and they can also un-burn objects and creatures, reversing destruction caused by high temperatures. Useful for fixing overcooked briskets and saving documents people assumed destroyed.*
*Man I don’t know what to do here, so many ideas, I want to make something original, but I don’t know how. I will need some time.*
[No worries dude, take your time, the thread ain’t going anywhere (unless it dies overnight, please don’t let this happen lmao)]
*This thing ain’t dying until I do*l
(why do I feel like you'd make bots to keep this alive if nobody else goes on it?)
*I’m insulted that you would think I would stoop that low. I have standards, and the usage of bots in any sense is so far below them*
[Counterpoint: The use of giant Evangelion-style mechs with speakers and projectors dispatched across the globe in order to spread awareness of the thread. I'd gladly allow that lmao]
*Evangelion mentioned, thread must be maintained at all costs.*
As the sun reaches high in the sky, a tall and handsome man enters the saloon. His hair is black and silken, falling in wild wavy locks to the length of his chin. His eyes two toned, the right a brillant golden yellow while the left a crimson red. He wears a black silk shirt covered in tiny golden stars that shimmer softly like glitter, as well as a black cowboy hat, black pants and boots all with golden accents. A thick belt is fastened around his waist with many pouches and a sheath for a large carving knife and a revolver. Slung over his back is a large backpack, a well carved bow, and a quiver of arrows. His sun kissed skin and muscular yet lean physique shows someone well adapted to hard work and survival in this harsh desert landscape despite the more decadent touch to his attire.
Following closely behind him are two wolves that come to flank either side of him. On his right is a lean and graceful looking wolf made of soft golden light that shimmers like stars, though it doesn't illuminate the area around itself, The eyes of this wolf are brilliant points of white light. On his left is a even larger and more monstrous wolf made of darkness and shadows who's fur flickers like a flame dancing in the wind. They eyes of this wolf are burning embers of red light. They inspect the area intently, sniffing the air and the various furniture as the made chuckles a bit. "I highly doubt this place poses much of a danger you two, would be able to keep things running if they couldn't keep customers."
The man then approaches the bar, pulling out a stool to sit as he removes his backpack and places it on an adjacent stool.

*Okay, I have a few ideas for powers, but I’m going to start with this one, I want to play a Wild West martial artist with the ability to bind souls, what I mean by that is, he can connect his soul and someone else’s. Effectively their stats change into his, if his hp max is somehow higher than theirs, their max goes up to that, but their current hp doesn’t change. So he’s only as strong as his opponent, or his opponent is only as weak as he is. Thoughts? Too op? Also it’s good to see ya Dark, my fellow Texan.*

The witch doctor grins back. "You can call me Doctor Ortigo."
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.
Ned gestures for the witch doctor to sit down and says "What's the name of your hometown doctor Ortigo?"

He sits down, crossing one leg over the other casually. "Thurber. The first coal mining town in Texas."
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.
Ned nods pulls out a bottle of whiskey and says "Would you care for a glass of whiskey doctor?"

"Thank ya' kindly, but I must decline. I brought my own spirits." He chuckles. "Besides, flames and booze don't mix very well."

*I'm Texan born and I'm a few pages away from finishing a classic Western so I'll have to join this when I think of a character.*
