The mechanical serpent is putting the finishing touches on a new animus body, and large mechanical mantis with four sets of long serrated scythe arms. "Now I just need a powersource and a spark...."
Myria has crawled into their lair, and produces a power source from an empty space within its metal plating, picking off bits of grime from it as it prepares to consume the heart. It doesn't know that anyone else is here.
They would hear the sound of movement, as a large serpentine head appears from the chamber the serpent is in.
The centipede looks over at the serpent, stopping before it would have sunk its teeth into the mechanical heart it holds. "Ah, I wasn't aware this place was already one's lair." It rasps.
"Many do not. If I may inquire, where did you collect that power source. I am in need of one myself" the serpent says in a calm and monotone voice. (Sort of like Alexa's default voice).
It looks down at the power source in its hand. "Oh, this? Found it from a long-dead Animus that was crushed by rubble. Why? You hungry as well?"
"I am seeking a power source to awaken a new Animus, one that can assist me in my work" The serpent says as more of her comes out of the room. She is a rather large snake Animus, but her movements are not threatening despite her size.

It thinks about her words for a moment. "Perhaps we could trade, then. I'll give you the power source, and in exchange, you give me some other parts with equivalent charge- like a couple batteries. Deal?"

"Hm, I should have some batteries of equal charge." The serpent says as she slithers back into her chamber. Myria will hear the sound of metal and other materials being rummaged through.
Myria skitters into the chamber, looking around. "Might I ask what you're working on here?"
They see the serpent looking though a large pile of collected metal, wirings, tools, and other items before their head turns to one of the work benches where a mechanical mantis with four serrated arm blades rests. Other work benches have other mechanical creations at various stages of completion.

"Yes, It was the purpose I was built for, though for what reason...that has been lost to me over time." She says as she produces a few charged batteries from the pile.
The spider finally picks up soundwaves coming from somewhere. It drags the dog animus towards the noise, looking for parts to fix it.

"Yeah, there's much that's been lost to time as of late." Myria's attention drifts to the batteries. being able to sense their latent charge and looking over at them with a sense of hunger. "Ah, those will do wonderfully." It holds the power source towards her.

"Yes, and upgrading memory banks can be challenging without assistance or proper materials. Still, I have managed to upgrade myself over the years..." She says as a small mechanical arm comes out from one of her sides and opens up a chamber about a third of the way down her body, revealing glowing blue light. She takes the power source and brings it up to the light, which causes a jolt of electricity to jump from within the chamber to the power source which begins to glow. Then with quick and expert precision, she quickly places the charged power source into the mantis and begins connecting it into the mechanical shell.

Myria's attention is fully captivated now, watching her connect the life-giving mechanism to its vessel. "That's good- occasional maintenance of one's inner workings is crucial. That's why I was looking for electricity in the first place- to keep all my systems running. Wasn't built with longevity or end-of-life in mind." It laughs a bit.

"Sadly not many Animus's were, the creators probably believed, falses it seems, that they would be able to maintain the care and power for us indefinitely." She says as several small mechanical hands work together in tandem, until after a few minutes she closes the chest cavity up as the mantis Animus slowly begins to boot up.
