He looks a little nervous, armed with an ashwood crossbow, serrated hunting knife, and tall polearm. Khass’s eyes are heavily accented with the use of kohl and mascara, enhancing the piercing silver color.

It is constructed from reddish-brown ceramic, divided into numerous segments to allow freedom of movement. Heat pulses from its seams and distorts the air around it. Six snake heads, bobbing and weaving around each other, intermittently eye Khass and taste the air - though what can be tasted with a forked tongue made of fired clay is beyond them. Its eyes could be glass, or simply empty sockets that let its internal fire vent. Each head is slightly different - distinguishable, at least, by their shape - and it’s unclear whether one consciousness controls them or many.

A bewilderingly complex array of interlocking ceramic shapes governs the movement of its arms, though Khass doesn’t get much chance to look at them. The snake-like figure twitches a lightweight cloak of green around its lower body and waits on the end of the now much more structually sound dock for Khass to float in.

 Using his polearm as an oar, Khass docks his boat, dismounting and tying it to one of the posts. He dusts himself off, making his way down the end of the dock with nearly silent footsteps. The jewelry of his horns jingle as he approaches the snake, bowing with a two fingered salute, hand pressed to the right side of his chest. Khass makes eye contact, remaining in a bowing position until addressed.
