as soon as the lights turn on in the circus, it seems to fill, and the once dead place becomes more inviting, as the smell of a mix of food flows out from behind the fence, and playful music flows out with it
The man from earlier, now dressed in a black dapper suit and pants----almost exactly the opposite of what anyone would have expected----approaches the tents, a scowl marking his face. Pulling his leather hat over his face, he strolls by the ticket-taker without a word, dropping his cigarette butt into the dirt before grinding it under his foot.
Entering the main tent, he finds the closest seat to the exit. Warily eyeing the performers warming up, he pretends to be disinterested with the whole spectacle for several minutes before walking over to wherever food is being sold. "What do you charge for popcorn here?"
