Hello everyone, I'm new to dnd but always been intrigued. Started with EverQuest when I was young and then other video games built up a love for rpgs. I carried my character Hoyhoy, amongst others, through many of them. I'm in my late 20s living outside of Baltimore MD, I got a job and an old dog.
I guess i can start saying i am 22 years old and i was introduce to the whole idea of the game DnD by my close friend who told me about it so i was intrested in joining. Of course it took me a while to create a character. I just about to start working pertty soon and i honestly enjoys RPs and storytelling so when i heard DnD was almost the same thing i wanted to join in. I have the players handbook and created my first character however now my problem is finding a group ^^' im so new to this whole experience i fear i may never find a group hehe. Especially in California it isn't easy to find people who i can play with and show me the ropes. Weather it's by post or talking it through on discord i am happy to play ^^
Hello everyone I am 51 years old. I started playing 1st edition back in the 70's I remember having to wait for the first printing of the Dungeon Masters Guide. Most of the time I have been a DM, I haven't done much with 5th edition even though I got the core books as fast as Amazon.ca could ship them. Due to my busy work schedule meant no time to run a game. Now I do have time as a result of a drastic change in my life, I had a Hemorrhagic Stroke which left my left side of my body useless. I am recovering quite well, being able to walk again and even have clumsy use of my left arm and hand so typing this out does take time. With the release of DDB I have a much better chance of running a game then I would without it.
Hello everyone. I am 45 years old and have been playing dnd (in its many iterations) for that last 30 years or so. There have been other games like Star Frontiers, Star Fleet Battles, Shadowrun, and few others that I no longer remember but I always come back to dnd. Actually my handle here is from my dnd 2E character which was a elven wizard 18/thief 21. Looking forward to sharing knowledge and hoping to get into a online game via Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds soon.
Hello, Im felbarn 35 years old I played dnd when I was 4 or 5 and had lot of fun with it. But after that time i switched to muds it wasnt until my 20's that i started getting into reading the books and figuring out how it works, but thats what got me going i picked up a rpgmaker3 game and i build a mantle around what i made with the graphics of the game creator and i build a story around how people could travel two different ways through the game and by making one area need one way or another way based on what settings people pick in a special book i realized how everybody's journey could be different in the same game in to many different ways then i couldn't think of and this has been what guides me in playing dnd to try and figure out the unknown and why people can find a different way in even the same places and still be able to play a game with a bunch of people in the same places. tldr: im not much closer now than i was then but i still like to play.
i'm 22 which i still find weird to stay because i had just gotten used to saying im 21. i did a ton of art stuff for school and work on a couple webcomics with friends and hope to do some sort of podcast later on. just talking about bullshit and branch off into a game and or movie thing or maybe just a straight up dnd podcast series similar to drawga or the adventure zone. of those silly amazing shows. these shows along with harmon quest and dnd based things in media really got me interested in the game and i played for the first time last year in December and i instantly fell in love i picked up the players hand book and dungeon masters guide for 5e and im picking up xanathars guide soon. basically i love fantasy and comedy and want to more content and i'll work to make it myself if i have to. despite still trying to learn everything i'll dm my first campaign in like june next year. by then i should know enough to get by and crafted a decent enough campaign for my friends
I'm 32 and live in the Netherlands. I DM for a group of friends and we're having a blast. I personally played a lot of D&D when I was younger (AD&D at first, 3rd edition when it was released) and was especially fond of the Planescape setting. Now that I'm older we're playing 5th edition and I'm introducing some extraplanar activities in our campaign. The other never really played before (we dipped our toes two years back but that quickly ended due to scheduling problems). It's been pretty hard to get our group together and even now we only play once every few weeks (wish it was more frequent, but hey, adult life and all).
I used to homebrew a lot of races and classes when I was younger, and am slowly creating some content for D&D Beyond as well (items, spells, etc). Can't wait for homebrew races and subclasses to become a thing here! Really excited about D&D beyond because I love playing with digital tools (as a DM, just having to carry my iPad instead of a pile of books and notes is great). Keep up the great work!
Hello! I'm a 17 y/o boy named Kyle from the US. Not much to say to be honest other than I enjoy drawing. I started playing a few months with and joined a local group to help cope with mental disabilities, which evolved to me, my boyfriend, and our best friend random one-shot homebrews at 5am. To be honest, I've been having a lot of fun with the game and I love it so much!! I'm also looking forward to possibly DMing a private game in the future!
Hi, I am a 37 year old bloke from the UK named David. My interest in D&D doesn't actually begin with the game, it started with the animated series (loosely) based on the franchise, back in the 80s, and for many reasons centred around that, I want to get more immersed in the games, so far, I do only have the two, 'Stormreach: Limited Edition' for the PC and 'Heroes of the Lance' on the SEGA Master System II, plus a few comics, recently acquiring several Forgotten Realms and Shadows of the Vampire issues, along with having an old 1st edition AD&D Players Handbook and one of the AD&D Monster Manual.
I enjoy putting pencil to paper and mouse to screen, in my many artistic endeavours, I have no official credits to my name yet, only one which I am sworn to secrecy about, so no more on that, but I am always drawing something, from one offs to comics and even animation, so you can probably expect a few D&D OCs every now and then.
Hello! My Name is Michael, and I'm a senior, and have recently started looking into tabletop games.
After playing some games like King of New York, Bloodborne the Board Game, One Night Ultimate Werewolf, Exploding Kittens, and now looking into stuff like Bang! Forbidden Island, Betrayal at House on the Hill and Small World, one of my friends brought up D&D. He said that, and I quote "If my mom could play it, I think we can handle it." The thought of embarking on a big journey with my friends has enthralled me, and now that both me and my friends are somewhat familiar with board games, since we were more of a video game group, I decided to agree to D&D once he decides to buy some materials for it. So I decided to do research before hand, and realizing that there is ALOT to look at, which both scares and excites me for all the possible outcomes if we decide to do this.
So if anyone would like to help some friends embark in D&D before we essentially never see each other again since some of us have no idea what will happen after highschool, it would be greatly appreciated. To start off, if I were to be the Dungeon Master, is it recommended to use a pre-made adventure, base it off of shows, games, books, etc. or maybe try to make one from scratch, or anywhere in between?
Greetings! My name is Andrew and I am new to D&D, having only played about four sessions with one group so far. I play a local game in Albuquerque, NM, and will soon start an online group with some friends. In both, I am a Dwarf Bard. I am loving D&D so far and I strive to become the best support my groups could have.
I'm Ashley, I'm 51, in the UK and, rather cliched for a roleplayer, a software engineer and RPGaholic.
I started playing RPGs 38 years ago with D&D (an unholy mash up of Basic and Advanced D&D) then had 30 years off D&D for good behaviour. During that time I played loads of Runequest and a pile of indie games - my favourites being Apocalypse World and Dogs in the Vineyard. I got back into D&D with 4th edition as it killed loads of sacred cows that put me off D&D in the late 70s. I'm the only person I know that DMed a party all the way to 30th level in that system, much to the disgust of both hardcore indie gamers and edition warriors. Inertia then carried me to 5th edition. I now play in one 5th ed game, DM 3 more (all occasional or I'd probably burn out) and I still run a 4th Edition game. The characters in the 5th edition games are 11th level for one game and 5th and 6th level in the other two.
If anyone's near Yeovil in the south west of England I belong to Yeovil games club and we're always after new players. Our rather basic but hopefully informative web page is at http://www.yeovilgames.co.uk/.
Hi, I'm new (old) here. I was really active on the old forums, back when the off topic board was called the off topic tavern. I got into D&D through the crpgs like Baldurs Gate 2: Shadows of Amn and Temple of Elemental Evil. Did most of my D&D games with 3.5 and Pathfinder. As of late I don't play much, I keep meaning to run a campaign but my crippling addiction to Monster Hunter keeps me from being any kind of productive towards fully realizing the idea.
I'm mostly here for nostalgia's sake, hoping to run into some familiar names even though I'm rocking a completely different tag. Nice to meet y'all. If you also have an addiction to fighting games or monster hunter, feel free to talk to me. Or if you're really into talking about characterization, I'm a huge nerd for things like that.

Monster Hunter fanatic. Fighting Game Player. Talk to me about them speedruns and buttons.
Greetings! I'm a 49 year old Chicagoan who's been gaming since I was 13. Started with AD&D in the early 80s, played a lot of other stuff (mostly GURPS, oWoD, Trinityverse and Ars Magica) before returning to D&D in 2000. Played a lot of 3.0, 3.5 and Pathfinder (4e didn't appeal to me at all), then shifted to Legend of the Five Rings and Mutants & Masterminds before finally entering the world of 5th edition, which is still very new to me (just got the books last year). It was my 15 year old nephew's interest in the game, encouraged by his mom, that brought me back in the fold. My step-sister called me to ask if I could give him some pointers (how things have changed!), which got me looking at the new rules and getting excited.
In my mind, 5e is the best edition of D&D I've ever played; it combines old school roleplaying with streamlined d20 mechanics in a wonderful package. I'm designing my first Homebrew fantasy setting since high school (coming soon to these forums, I hope!), and I couldn't be happier.

Hello! Please feel free to call me Spirit.
I am 28, and live under a rock. DnD only became a thing in my country 5-10 years ago, and it's still not a thing in my town, so I have never ever played before!
I specifically started watching Critical Role and other popular DnD streams to gain better understanding of the game and rules. But I guess one can't really learn without experiencing it first hand.
I work as a librarian, sometimes on Saturday as well. But generally I'm free Friday and Saturday nights and Sundays until the afternoon.
I can be found on Skype, Telegram, Tumblr and Twitter. And DnD Beyond now too I guess?
And... that's about it so far? I guess, as P.S. I can add that my time zone is GMT+2. ...Yeah.
Well... erhhh. o-okay. So.. erhhhh. I erhh. I haven't played much D&D tbh. My character is an half elf druid. She goes by as oak but her real name is Tethra. She is a very... unstable character. I have been playing D&D (3e) for a little over half a year because I can only play it every second weekend. And if my DM is sick or something gets in the way it's a whole month without a session. But our party is quite small. As in. 2 people. Me and a half orc barbarian called D'lanor The Cleaver. I quite like the druid. Well, there are some things I think are weird or just outright stupid. I live in denmark. You know, Denmark. Yeah, Denmark. That little country in butt f#cks nowhere. Yeah, Denmark. The vikings. Aaaand that's about the cool shit we did. We did build our entire country out of digital legos (In minecraft). But that's about what we've done. Anyways. We're playing forgotten realms campaign. It sadly doesn't seem to be so popular here. I guess that's about it. Yeah I haven't been playing since 1995 or since the dawn of time so I don't have some crazy stories to tell. Well, D'lanor did kill like 30 tanarukks. And a kobolt boss. And basically everything. I think I have killed like 4-5 things. But else I haven't even gotten the final blow on something yet. NOT EVEN MY GODDAMN DIREBEAR OR FIRE ELEMENT. But oh well. Well. Yesterday (Yesterday was: 18-03-2018) he (we) did kill a white dragon. That was pretty cool. We did face a hag a long ass time ago. My DM had prepared this really cool and hard boss fight where this hag would go invis and come out and attack and then vanish into the shadows again. But D'lanor had something else in mind. A 20 as a matter of fact. he rolled a 20 on I think round 2 or 3 and then we had an NPC with us that made the final hit. Else there isn't really a lot to tell yet. But what would a good class be for someone who has played a druid?
Okay now I don't know what to say anymore. Yeah I'm just going to leave it like that so I don't use the next 30 min trying to come up with something new to say.
