Not really, since everyone has a different idea of common sense. To some, it may be common sense that there's a distortion in the air wherever invisible people are, for example...

But not when it's misty and dark and I'm 150ft away.

Either way, Shield would have been cast so that fight wouldn't go any other way, regardless.

As I said, common sense means different things to different people, so it's best to stick as close to RAW as possible for PvP to avoid arguments.
