I'll also use the Drain Life feature of the Rod, make a DC 17 Con save or take 16 necrotic and I'll be healed for half that.

And if the first stunning strike fails, I'll use the Paralyze feature of the Rod, make a DC 17 Str save or be Paralyzed.

 1st con save 30

Second Con save 26

Third Strength Save 18
