Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination. I will protect those who cannot protect themselves, I will protect even those I hate so long as it is right.
Place pasta, tomatoes, onion, and garlic in a large stock pot. Pour in vegetable broth. Sprinkle on top the pepper flakes and oregano. Drizzle top with oil. Add NO water!
Cover pot and bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer, keep covered & cook for 10 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes or so. Cook until almost all liquid has evaporated.
Season to taste with salt and pepper. Add basil leaves and stir well. Serve with Parmesan cheese on top.
Basically, it's just pigs in a blanket, but you cut one end of the hot dog to look like tentacles. Then, after they've cooked, you add little eyes with ketchup.
I love breaking out the old dutch oven and making a nice one pot meal. I do this both on my many camping excursions and out back at home. A favorite of myself and my friends is the Soda Cake I make, and it's as simple as they can get and requires almost zero cleanup. The ingredients are as follows:
1 can soda
1 box cake mix
1 can of pie filling (optional)
Anything to top the cake (optional)
Steps:
Prepare 35 coals.
Line dutch oven with aluminum foil.
If you are using a pie filling empty it onto the bottom of the dutch oven.
Mix soda and cake mix and pour into dutch oven (on top of filling if present).
Place 17 coals on bottom of dutch oven and 18 on top.
Remove coals when cake is slightly golden (turn lid and oven occasionally before cake is ready to cook more evenly.).
Put topping on cake.
Scoop cake out of dutch oven and enjoy
Once again this cake is amazing in its simplicity and taste. Some great combinations I have discovered are root-beer/vanilla cake, sprite/yellow cake with peach feeling, and coke/chocolate cake with raspberry filling and powered sugar topping (although you can never really go wrong with a combination). I highly recommend trying something crazy or having a different friend bring each ingredient and see what you end up with. I hope you all enjoy this recipe and get as much fun out of it as I have!

Do not expect people to be smart, but do not allow them to be stupid. If there is one thing I have learned it is this.
Some more great recipes I use include 2 childhood favorite of mine. Spinach stuffed meatloaf and cioppino. I was a weird child btw. For those of you who don't know, cioppino is a spicy, tomato based, seafood soup which originally was considered an Italian poor man's dish.
Unfortunately I just realized that both of those are family recipes which I am not prepared to disclose. But I believe this all brings up other great topics of discussion for everyone. What foods did you love as a child? What foods do you have a family recipe for?

Beer (Must be legal age in your country to purchase.)
The Sautéed
1 ½ Lbs. Ground Beef (or Turkey, if so inclined)
1 Green Bell Pepper (Diced)
1 Medium Onion (Diced)
3-4 Cloves of Garlic (minced or crushed)
2 Tbsp. Cooking Oil (I use Coconut Oil because I can and it's great.)
(Optional: 1-2 Jalapenos, Anchoes, or other Hot peppers. Habaneros are fun for a good kick. (Diced))
The Mission
Mix the dry in Tupperware bowl, cover, shake, and set aside for later.
Put Tomato Sauce and diced Tomatoes in Pot.
Drain, then add the corn, beans, and green beans.
Brown Meat, drain, and add that to the pot.
Saute diced Pepper(s), Onion, and garlic in cooking oil. Add to Pot
Mix in the dry spices.
Add a few healthy pinches of Brown Sugar, Worcestershire Sauce, and a few shots of that beer (I prefer stouts, but it’s on you.)
Stir that mess up, and bring it to a boil.
Turn heat down to a simmer and let it cook for a few hours. Stir it on occasion so it doesn’t stick to the bottom and burn.
Serve it up with cheese, crackers, bread or sour cream. Hell, it’s your mess at this point, do with it what you want.
If you have the time (4-6 Hours), you can replace the Pot with a slow cooker and make your house smell of awesome. At step 8, just turn your slow cooker to high and get like Elsa and Let It Go.
There would have to be a chapter or two just for Druids. These could be filled with ways to identify real edible plants and tubers like a survival book, and how to make sews and stuff out of them. Also ale and mead recipes for the dwarfs and their friends.
There also need to be CR and EXP for each of the recipes (Quest(s)/ Mission(s)- large meals, Battle(s)- small to mid size meals, Campaign(s)- full meals for multiple people, Monsters- theme based meal(s) or small meal(s))

I think the point of this page was just to share personal, real-life recipes, but I am officially now going to make all of these and a bunch of lore/game-play based recipes, plus any recipes that Adohand Gatorslayer speaks of in his AMA, into a cookbook and share it here. Hopefully there will be enough recipes and inspiration that I can have a complete first draft in a month. Thanks for the idea dude!

LOL sure no problem. As far as my first contribution goes it's not mine, but my scout masters use to fry up bread (and sometimes eggs) in left over bacon grease in a cast iron pan over the fire; they called it Bacon Bread. Adding real maple syrup after is great too. It might be a poor man meal, but it tasted great. It just sure isn't great for you LOL.
oh fun fact there is a true way to make s'mores I discovered a while back. everyone either likes to burn it or make it golden brown that's a given. but don't just use Hershey chocolate add peanut butter too or better yet if you have it reese peanut butter cups
IT'S OFFICIAL EVERYONE, ADOHAND'S COOK BOOK IS A GO! I just got the thumbs up from Adohand himself! I am starting the cookbook TONIGHT! Later down the road I will need some artists, so if anyone is willing to help out with some (unfortunately) unpaid artwork let me know here or in the DMs (in the not god-like being overwatchng the tales of a group of adventurers)

I have an old favorite recipe, and it's simple too.
1) Catch a fish (trout is definitely good, others are probably good too). 2) Gut & clean the fish 3) Slice lemons and onions, lay some on foil (enough to wrap around fish - single occupancy - and crimp closed) 4) Put fish on lemon and onion bed 5) Toss in your favorite herbs and some garlic 6) Lay more lemon and onion on top of fish 7) Wrap foil around fish, crimp closed, cook on campfire (usually about 15-20 minutes)
Work on the cookbook is underway and rolling. I'll be using google docs, and then putting it into homebrewey to make it look all nice. Wish me luck! :)

I'm starting off with a lovely Sriracha Avocado Deviled Egg recipe; it's a huge hit with the family and adds a nice twist to a classic dish.
Recipe inside the spoiler tag in the interest of not making a wall of text.
Sriracha Deviled Eggs
INGREDIENTS
Instructions
If you're feeling fancy, you could probably mix the bacon in with the yolk mixture; this would definitely make it harder to pipe, however.
Enjoy!
Easy Dipping Sauce (dropbear8mybaby)
Ingredients
Instructions
Anything with srirarcha in it is good.
For a dipping sauce, good for things like chicken nuggets, srirarcha and dijon mustard in equal measures mixed together.

That's a good recipe.

I helped kickstart the +5 Food of Eating Cookbook on kickstarter awhile back. This thread just reminded me of it!
Some good gaming recipes in there! :D

Found it! A link to the cookbook was just sitting in the comments:

It appears as though she's abandoned her campaign to monetize the book.
