"What good. Are there other people around, or any other places of note? Lakes, rivers, mountains?"
“Ha! No, there is nothing more here then even fields of trees as far as the eye can see… and farther. I’ve never seen anything more than that. But yes, a few different groups of people have come through, I’ve seen many different adventurers gallivant about before becoming hopelessly lost..”
"Have you ever tried to escape?" Darklis asks. She clearly sounds annoyed, who wouldn't be after escaping a cursed meadow only to end up in a cursed forest?

Insight on Granny:5
“Yes many times… you can climb the trees or run for ever in one direction, you won’t find anything. At least I haven’t” And as far as you can tell Granny is being rather truthful about what she’s telling you.
Zuli, irritated, goes back to where they found the message in the first place. She trusts her nose to navigate this new area, and to find her way back to her comrades if her eyes fail her.
As she walks away, she says, "The message was this way, if you are interested...Granny. We got out of our last endless meadow, so there's bound to be a way out of this place. And the best way to find out is to investigate the clues left here by whatever merciless god rules over this place."

“You found something? Ha! Now this is something to get exited about, lead the way!” Granny stands shakily placing the skin of the deer on her cart, then follows you to wherever you may lead her.
"You said there is wildlife in the forest, but do you know if there are monsters or other dangers too?"
Arthila shad been observing the others quietly so far. Maybe he also got lost in his thoughts about his sports team, his family... everything he had left behind on the material plane.
"I will never leave again without a scroll of plane shift." he mumbles.

“I haven’t ever come across anything more dangerous than a pack of wolves”
Darklis nods, then says under her breath. "Wonderful." She looks to Zuli, "Well, if you think you know where you're going, then lead the way."
As they walk, Darklis will look around. She is specifically looking for any inconsistencies in this artificially uniform forest.

As you make your way back to the stone with the message you smell what you scented earlier, meat roasting on a fire. It is clearly coming from the opposite direction of granny’s cart.
"Well, here's the message I was talking about," Zuli gestures at the stone. "You really haven't seen it before?" She sniffs the air, noting the smell of roasting meat. "Huh, perhaps we have more company. Want to investigate?"
Quixote listens intently, nodding along intently with everything his comrades say. "Lead the way. I wonder who is roasting the meat, it smells very good."
DM:
His actual name is Ikaros. The only people that knows this is his mom and sister, who are both dead. He puts on a phony accent (equivalent of a hispanic accent this time), takes a new name and a new profession whenever he feels like he needs to change identities. Which is often, but that probably won't happen with the current group.

“No, never. Well if you need goat skins I have plenty! And yes, let’s go find this delicious smelling meat”
"I agree," Darklis says when she smells the meat again, "It's the only kind of lead we have in this forest."
Assuming you follow the scent you are lead through the monotonous woods to what you can only assume is the origin of the cooked meat smell: a rather large tavern. It has no name that you can clearly discern, just two large wooden doors on large wooden beams supported by more large wooden beams. The wood looks exactly the same as the strange trees surrounding you. The doors are closed, through foggy windows you can see firelight and a bar, as well as empty tables.
"Ah. I'll call you Granny, then." He puts his hand back by his side, smiling. "Where do you get the deer for your pelts?"

“It’s not just deer, I’ve got goat, sheep, wolf, bear… but I usually just find them galloping about through the woods, every now and then.”

For Tez:
You have definitely 100% fooled everyone, but I must ask if Quixote isn’t Quixote who is he?
Edit: “The adventurers? Escaped, or are still lost here in these trees.”

“I think we should.” Agnomally, having followed the others back from Granny‘s cart, begins to head in the direction of the cooking meat.
