Arthilas, you are successful in your attempt to push open the door. It actually feels very light on its hinges (that are also made out of stone), despite the door being about 6" of solid granite. On the opposite side of the door there is a hallway, that leads into another room. This room is identical---as far as you can tell---to the room above the library, save the fact it is slightly larger. The same cloaked statue and crystal halo stand at the front of the room, with the same text written on ribbons above and below it. On the side there is another trapdoor.
Verdell:
There isn't too much of note in the room before the door. No carvings, no paint, no text; just the room itself and the stains on the ground. The stains themselves look brown, but whether that's dirt or smeared and decaying blood you can't quite tell. There's no smell.
At the crucial moment before Arthilas pushes open the door you notice a pair of slits in the wall next to the door, with something metal inside. You see the blades, but you don't see them move. Whatever trap was guarding the door is clearly disarmed.
The room behind the door is more interesting, though. A barely noticeable seam surrounds the altar, statue and halo in the new room. It looks like it might be able to move, but where it leads and how it moves is lost on you.
Clementine is immediately going to try to investigate the stains, seeing what they are, what caused them, how old they are, anything really.
Edit: I can’t get the dice roller working for some reason, if someone wants to roll for me Clementine has a +8 on investigation. I rolled an 18 on her character sheet if we are cool with using that too.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zuli comes back, "Wait, seriously? You found a door?" She hops down and goes to look at the stains, sniffing them to see if she can identify them by smell.
Clementine, the stains definitely look like a mixture of blood and dirt. Zuli, you come to the same conclusion---the smell of iron and grime is unmistakable.
Arthilas, the microscopic stone switch hidden in the folds of the statue's robes catches your eye immediately. Clementine and Verdell, you can see Arthilas looking at something, but from where you stand you can't quite see what it is.
Arthilas tells the others that he has found a small lever in that statue. "Should I pull it?"
"Yes. Do you see those seams around the statue?" Verdell indicates the cracks. "It looks to me like the statue might be able to move, and this might be how it does so."

Arthilas pulls the lever. He holds his sword in his other hand, ready to defend himself, and tightens his muscles while the runes on his sword start to glow. (starts bladesinging).
Seeing Agnomally begin to fly, Darklis summons her own wings and hovers along with her. She's not sure what's going on, but she readies her Flamburge in case of a fight.
Already wielding his glowing sword, Verdell dons his shield and (since we're all using limited-use abilities before we know we need them) mutters a few brief words in Celestial, targeting Arthilas, Darklis, Clementine, and Zuli with a 2nd-level bless.
(I also just realized we've built quite the effective party: Phantom, Echo Knight, Order Cleric, Bladesinger, Draconic sorcerer, and Gloom Stalker. We've got just about everything covered.)

(Okay I promise I'll get to all this tomorrow, but I want to comment that it really is a well-rounded party. And, does anyone have a preference for loot they'd like to find? Rings, spell scrolls, magic weapons, gold, armor, anything? Homebrew or official content? Nothing's off limits.)

(Three dozen rings of three wishes? No, I don't really have any ideas. Stuff that makes me better at protecting the good people and blasting the bad people with holy righteousness, I guess? I'm actually planning for Verdell to dip in Fighter next, so maybe something that helps his magical abilities continue to increase?)

Verdell points out everything he noticed to the others, then attempts to Perceive more detail about the altar: 10

Of course. Oh well.

Arthilas tries to perceive more details too. 25
“Interesting!” Clementine is going to try to walk into the new room with the altar and look around the room perception:

"I see no other option. I say we pull it."
“Yeah! Let’s go!” Agnomally cast fly, hoping to not be affected if something happens to the ground.
