As y'all pick up some of these books and flip through them, some dust gets kicked up into the air. Agnomally and Zuli, you both have a hard time seeing anything because of it. But, you get the idea; it's books on foraging and crafts. Arthilas, though you can't see anything, it looks like whoever made this library uses this information often, because there is significant wear on the pages.
Verdell and Clementine, you move to a different section of the library and look at some of the books there. These don't have as much dust on them---they were used recently---and the leather binding on them seems to have worn out in some places, revealing the wood covers beneath them. They're thick and heavy, and some even have gilded script. Opening the books reveals more dwarvish, along with some illustrations of the same cloaked figure brandishing a silver dagger and a blunt-tipped sword made of light, but her hood is off, revealing a woman with scars along her face. Other illustrations depict her fighting another woman shrouded in shadows.
Verdell:
Since Comprehend Languages is still active, you're able to read the Dwarvish text with clarity. The story tells of Koga, the cloaked woman, fighting and eventually sealing evil into a fabled sword that goes by the name of 'The Executioner's Blade.' The evil in question takes the form of her sister, Onra, and with The Executioner's Blade she sealed it away forever. According to the book, as long as Onra was sealed in the sword, time would slowly weaken her and all evil in the world until she died and the world was left with only good.

Zuli snorts as she inhales dust, "Welp, looks like there's nothing of use down here..." She frowns as Verdell and Clementine start looking through the books, "What use are books? ...Oh, do you think there are clues in there? ...Find anything?"
She looks over Verdell's shoulder. She is clearly not that interested, but she doesn't want to be left out if there is actually useful information to be found.

Unfortunately, Arthilas cast comprehend languages, not Verdell. So instead of reading it, he takes the book over to Arthilas to read. (He just has a feeling it might be important, ya know? I hope 14 passive Insight is enough to make that a valid excuse....)

(lol, yeah I'm not sure where she learned it, but it just happens to be one she knows.)
Zuli sniffs, "Not sure how this is relevant to us. I mean...unless someone else already did something to that sword. Not that I really care much about what happens to this world, but I don't think we want to risk setting some ancient evil loose. Then again, perhaps we need the thing to get out of here...so I suppose we should try to find it?"
Realizing that only Verdell knows what she is talking about, she does her best to summarize the information they just learned, "So... I think the statue up there is some...light spirit...godess.. don't really know. Her sister was evil so she trapped her in a sword so she'll die after a while."
Arthilas chooses to read the book as well and tells the others what is written in it. "An ancient, magic sword? That sounds interesting! Much more so than that strange forest we were in before..." he says, and you can see the glow of excitement in his eyes. He then looks at the faintly glowing runes inscribed on his own sword. "If the tales are true..." he murmurs.

Darklis, who had been silently following the group yet somehow staring off into space at the same time, snaps back to reality. "Magic sword? ....What are we doing again?"

(Hopefully not on such a dramatic note! I’m back I’ve just had a busy few days.)
Clementine nods in agreement absent mindedly before realizing that Darklis’s comment wasn’t a statement. “Oh, um not quite sure myself. I’m not sure where I should be looking for a sword, but I already have one.”
Agnomally walks around the perimeter of the room, trying to see if there are any exits. "Why are there never any doors in these rooms? It seems like a rather poor aesthetics decision."

“Why would the gods want to test us?” Zuli asks. “Makes little sense if you ask me. There’s plenty of other people out there, people who actually care about the gods, that they could put through the wringer. Why us?” She sniffs, “Unless this is their way of punishing us. If that’s it…we’ll it’s a poor attempt at punishment.”
”We a were talking about a sword right? Anyone got any ideas? Or are we gonna sit around here all day?” She proceeds to climb out of the hidden library, back into the statue room. Yeah
(I've been real busy as well, but I should, theoretically, be able to keep up with the thread until I'm not as busy anymore. Maybe.)
Agnomally, at the end of the room there is a hallway leading into... an empty room. Not an exit, but another place to go. The same crystals provide adequate light for you to see a few stains on the stone floor. At the end of the room, about 25 feet in, there is a stone door with a stone handle.

Arthilas, you are successful in your attempt to push open the door. It actually feels very light on its hinges (that are also made out of stone), despite the door being about 6" of solid granite. On the opposite side of the door there is a hallway, that leads into another room. This room is identical---as far as you can tell---to the room above the library, save the fact it is slightly larger. The same cloaked statue and crystal halo stand at the front of the room, with the same text written on ribbons above and below it. On the side there is another trapdoor.
Verdell:
There isn't too much of note in the room before the door. No carvings, no paint, no text; just the room itself and the stains on the ground. The stains themselves look brown, but whether that's dirt or smeared and decaying blood you can't quite tell. There's no smell.
At the crucial moment before Arthilas pushes open the door you notice a pair of slits in the wall next to the door, with something metal inside. You see the blades, but you don't see them move. Whatever trap was guarding the door is clearly disarmed.
The room behind the door is more interesting, though. A barely noticeable seam surrounds the altar, statue and halo in the new room. It looks like it might be able to move, but where it leads and how it moves is lost on you.
(Sorry for the absence lol)
