I see what you're saying. However the assumption I was working under was that in each trial you would STOP rolling when you rolled 36. So some trials would be relatively short (potentially as small as 1 roll), and some could be very very large. So the average number of rolls among all these trials should be 46556 rolls. If that were so, there would need to be many more small-value trials (trials will rolls less than the average) to balance trials with very large numbers of rolls. Hence, any randomly-selected trial would more likely be a smaller one.
This kind of assumption helps to determine how long we might expect to continue before getting our FIRST roll of 36. I think your explanation takes into account the kind of trial (like this one) where we would continue rolling after reaching 36, and the likelihood of getting 36 more than once in a given value of n.
