Hi there! My name's Elk. I'm NoiSilverheart's doppelgänger. I'm a demi/grayromantic, socially awkward Okie who may or may not be a pyromaniac. *random confetti blast*
I'm a warlock of the Archcrone, and my patron is TheFriendlyArchfey. I was nicknamed AchatesCervus8337 by VitusW and given the titles "Swashbuckling Scorcher", "The Unpredictable Jedi", "Burning Fury of the Ancients", and "Combustion Knight" by DrummerBoyDragonSlayer.
Anyone else watch the new dragon designs? Was hoping it’d be a bit longer like the class videos, but i still think it was pretty cool. It did two things I was hoping: showed they were making dragons more unique in their art and lore, as well as (probably) making them have unique statblocks instead of the original, minimal variation ones in original 5e. My main reason for thinking this is they mentioned Gold Dragons, in combat, could coil around Red Dragons and drown them, leading me to believe they will have a new coil attack with their new forms. And I’m guessing this will carry over to the other 9 dragons as well.

Yep! Gold dragons are very serpentine now, and green dragons resemble looooong cobras with legs
oh and also black dragons slowly lose the skin on their face, so they have exposed skulls.

What about red dragons?
Red dragons are generally the same, staying as the sort of traditional D&d dragons. But they got… a bit bigger.
like, quite a bit bigger. Check out the art for them and you’ll see what I mean.
also, silver dragons are a lot bulkier than they used to be and a lot shinier, their art is awesome too.

Does that mean Banan will change his pfp
Maaaybe, that’d be cool
Another thing I noticed: when I look up a stat block from the basic rules such as an ancient brass dragon, it attributes the source to the "basic rules (2014)" Which means the transition to ODND is slowly but surely coming to the site.

It does the same thing with classes and races (or species as they’re now known as) I think you’re going to be able to flip between the two. Like how you can turn on an of critical roll, drakenhime and grim hollow content

Oh, I didn’t notice that. Well, good thing they aren’t just replacing them! I’m assuming at least. Hope they add some of the new stuff to the basic rules as well, which is what I’m guessing they’ll be doing.

Ooohoho I didn’t see the bronze one yet, that’s awesome. In one of the green dragon sketches it mentions the orange patterns on its hood (it has a hood now!) and its wings that it uses to threaten people! I love the multicolored dragons now, instead of just being one color. Black dragons also look super cool with the horns and skull faces.
What ails you, my fellow warlock?
