It's always great when summer break rolls around.
Pathfinder is a fun system, I'm definitely interested! It has been a long time since I've done any Pathfinder so I'd be super rusty but it would be fun. Do you know what the story would be yet?

Unfortunately, me and Baalz have not been able to brainstorm yet, due to irl stuff, he’s had some semi-limited access to the forums, but we’re getting the ball rolling, and though I haven’t talked to him yet, I do have some ideas of my own, possibly involving the theory of Ley Lines :>
being rusty is definitely alright because, uh, I’ve never played Pathfinder 2e before and I’m fairly unfamiliar with the system, and I think Baalz knows the rules better than I do, but I’m not sure if he’s played before either. But I’m learning fast!
the way it’ll work is me and Baalz will both have characters and take turns between playing and DMing. We’re also gonna ask Yvonne if she’s interested :>

Ooh you could tell some cool stories with Ley Lines.
I've only played Pathfinder 1e so I'm going to have to learn more now. I always liked how Pathfinder 2e looked though so this should be fun.
That sounds pretty fun! That would be a fun team if Yvonne joins.

Indeedy! The concept really intrigues me, because it encourages worldbuilding around it with where the Ley Lines Meet, if that makes sense. It’s just fun.
So I guess we’ll all be pretty new! I don’t know how much difference there is in the two systems, but they probably aren’t that different.
indeed! We might stick with three players at a time and have it be you, Yvonne (if she accepts) and Me and Baalz rotating, since that allows for more focus on each individual character and I love a character driven plot.

I think three players is the perfect amount for a game. It is super fun when the story is told by the characters and their reactions and choices with each other. Character interactions is where it's at, baby! I guess I have to start thinking of a good character.

Alright! Not sure what me and Baalz will come up with, but it’s likely whatever character you make will be able to fit in there with little to no modification (I’m already like, halfway through making a character myself lol)

I do have a character idea I have wanted to play for a while but I don't know if they are too crazy. There is a species called the Vanara which are like monkeys and it would be fun to play one inspired by Sun Wukong. The character would think that he is immortal. He does not believe he will ever die. This doesn't mean he'll jump in a pool of lava or take a shot to the face, he still feels pain and imagines that that would hurt real bad, but he has incredible confidence and no feel of death. Of course he would be mortal and could die in the campaign and if that happens it might be a little more heart wrenching.

Oh, oh I really love this. Imagine what would happen when (if) he realizes that he can die…
my character idea is sort of like, a human (or Tiefling) acrobat who had accidentally made a deal with an infernal fortune telling machine who now possesses his soul. It wasn’t exactly a deal, more of a curse, but it came with arcane magic! Now, he’s trying to track down the circus he used to travel with and find the fortune telling machine (actually a devil) and get his soul back.

Exactly, that would be a major blow to this fellow. He might become terribly afraid and cowardly for a minute but that would be an opportunity for him to develop and grow past that. He might also have a touch of madness because your reasoning can't be all that great if you believe you are immortal.
I really like that! You know I got a soft spot for the circus and an acrobat with magic powers sounds real fun to play. And a fortune telling machine sounds like a pretty cool enemy.

I also have a soft spot for the circus :> I needed to do something different from a clown or Jester character (have so many of those already) so I decided to make an acrobat! I figured out a way to give him the fly spell, which I think I’ll be flavoring as him swinging from magically conjured, fiery trapezes. In addition, for secret backstory reasons, his spellbook is a collection of circus flyers.

That's some really cool flavor! It is cool to see alternate circus acts other than clown in characters. I had an animal whisperer/sharpshooter once who would get into a pool of rattlesnakes without being bitten but I never actually got to play the guy. Still fun to make though. So this guy of yours would be a wizard?
On a completely unrelated note, taking braids out of your extremely curly hair is a pain. Especially when it took two hours to put them all in.

He would be a Magus, which is a wizard/Fighter hybrid. Focuses on Melee but can cast a spell and swing a sword with one attack roll. If it hits, they both hit.
this means, uh, big damage, lots of dice. Like, D&d rogue sneak attack levels of dice.

Y'know, I've always seen people saying 3 is the best number of players for a game. Personally I feel like 5 players is the best, because its not so many that everything takes a significantly longer amount of time, but its enough that there's never a lack of ideas, jokes, and fun. Plus if you do that combat doesn't rely super heavily on every character being a master of fighting, with three players each character basically has to max out one type of attack and do that over and over, which is very boring Then again, the games I've played have been almost always between 5 and 10 players, but I played a couple oneshots with three of my younger siblings (me DMing) and like 3 sessions with 14 players. Another nice thing is that with 5 players if one person can't make it its not as big a deal as it would be in a 3 player game. Maybe its just me, but even with my current game of 7 players we still have another player we want to invite but can't because we already have so many people. There's always someone I wish we had in the group, and with 3 that number would be so much higher. I guess this also goes hand in hand with how there's not very many DMs in comparison to players
No disrespect if you think 3 players is the best number, I just think there's a lot to be said for larger games

I agree. I prefer groups consisting of a DM and 5-7 players. Unfortunately, with more players than that, combats really drag on and sometimes people don’t get enough screen time to really rp their characters.
Just saw the Phoenician Scheme by Wes Anderson.
Fantastic. Amazing. Marvelous. Terrific. Spectacular. Awesome. Fantabulous.

Plus if you do that combat doesn't rely super heavily on every character being a master of fighting, with three players each character basically has to max out one type of attack and do that over and over, which is very boring
Then again, the games I've played have been almost always between 5 and 10 players, but I played a couple oneshots with three of my younger siblings (me DMing) and like 3 sessions with 14 players.

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).
I have a sudden urge to just make a despicably, irredeemably evil character.
