I'm not sure about that, honestly. I prefer older art a lot. Although it's cool, modern art is designed to be only that---cool-looking. You'll get infinitely more starship battles, femboy dragons, and whatnot than older art, but you lack emotion.
And, with the rise of modern tools, artists can make pictures like that in an hour-ish.

As a modern artist I feel kinda weird about your statement cause like I try to put emotion into my pieces and I’m sure others do too. And yeah, we can do it quickly, but some people choose not to. Not me since I’m not a painting guy, if I do art offline, I do sketches, but yeahhhhh.
Also at least it’s not AI ig? Like there is a lot more soul in digital art than in AI, and that becomes clear when you compare the two. I think a lot of artists would honestly be a bit offended by your statement, I was a little bit at first, because they pour their heart and soul into their pieces, just like older artists. Art is kinda subjective so honestly whatever you prefer, but I prefer more modern art (especially animation).
