Also, what if every time they get an ability, part of it is unique to every fey creature? Like, a Hag might get the ability to change appearance or cast bestow curse, but at the same level, they all get the ability to bind people to promise or some weird stuff like that. Kinda like that one Barbarian subclass.
OH and Naiads! Maybe swim speed or invisible while in water. Water-based species are so tough, I'd never be good at playing one.
Maybe just nymphs in general and they gain a ranger ability while in their terrain as well as a fly, climb, or swim speed depending on which nymph they choose?
I think that's a great idea. I mean, basically I feel like there are so many abilities and options that playing a fey creature is like playing a class. I love how Faerie Dragons get abilities as they age (I know they're not technically fey, but I like them as fey creature) and I think some playable monstrous races could be conceived of in that way. They advance in power as they gain experience.

I like having trolls, displacer beasts, and unicorns in my world be fey.
also, if we do that, it’ll be cool, but it would take a long time to come up with ideas.

I feel like all these should be fey. Lots of work, yes, but they are totally fey creatures, no way they're not.

What if at some point, the fey sorcerer becomes immune to charms, and can turn charm effects from a detriment to a buff for them or allies? Just think that might be cool.

Maybe they have vulnerability to Cold iron attacks, and can’t have resistance to regular iron?
???
Sylphs are cool, too, though not in 5e. They could call an elemental that levels with character level perhaps?

Sorry thorns aren't in 5e, they're back in 3rd edition (the one I started with, omg).

Like a wildfire Druid or drakewarden?
Yes, that would work for a similar template.

Also there are Korreds, which I always find weird.

Maybe Korreds get earthglide?

Good one for them, for sure. And/or some sort of natural attack ability that involves they're crazy hair situation!

Maybe on a long rest they can make a rope that they can use an action to command as if they were a Korred?
That's a good idea, I think. Gives them that weird ability based on their hair.

So many fun possibilities with that.

Could be similar to the warlock tentacle attack thing, I forget the name. It's based on the great old one subclass maybe?
