I just read about a story called "The Red Oni Who Cried," and I'm gonna take inspiration from that.
Basically, there was a red oni and a blue oni. The red oni wanted to befriend the humans but was too scared to do so, so he cried. The blue oni saw this, and had an idea: he would play the part of a villain so that the red oni could "defeat" him. When the plan came to fruition, the humans loved the red oni, but the blue oni had to leave to prevent any misunderstandings.
When the red oni goes home to see the blue oni, he realizes that his friend is gone, and he weeps, knowing what the blue oni did for him.
