did y'all know that actually, the imperial system used to be the "standard" way back when? the metric system, which was first used as a national standard in france, is a fairly new standard of measuring things and was first used nation-wide by france in the 1790's. and great britain only started using it instead of the British Imperial System in the 1960's, if i remember correctly
