I've been watching how your eyes move to the ground And I hear you change your story every time that I'm around You can tell me what you want, say what you will But I'm done with you, I'm done with what you say you think is real
I was going to make a faction based around Father Guanchali's religion, but then I realized that it isn't a very organized religion in the first place.
Then I realized that their bastardizing it might be the point. A commentary on corruption in organized religion!
They worship not a divine force, but flesh itself. Butchers, splicers, musicians... heretics, all.
Long ago, when the devils of Sun City started summoning demons to "work" for them, they chose a specific layer of the Abyss to take those demons from: the Flesh Forges. The resident demon lord, The Flesh Engine, was not happy with devils using its forges. For aid, it turned to the people of the Gut, and taught them its dark craft of Splicing. Needles and threads, alchemy, necromancy, and occultism all made up this hideous work. And the people... they loved it.
Not every Fleischmann is in the Flesh Forger faction, but every Flesh Forger is a Fleischmann. They take the trappings of the Fleisch religion and work it into a maniacal cult. Ambition reigns over the Forgers as they try to create the perfect monsters, even at the cost of destroying themselves. Humanity doesn't exist. Purity is a social construct. Good and Evil were lies from the start.
Devils may work in steel, but a true smith works in the Flesh, for it is the Flesh that binds us, drives us, flowing through all living things. One who works the Flesh... works life itself.
That's epic! This faction, what is their goal and who do they ally with, if anyone?
Their goal is simply to create the greatest things ever in order to please the Flesh. They want to bring joy to the world with their creations, and they recently found that demons have the best flesh for smithing and devils tend to get in the way a lot. As the Flesh Engine intended.
They don't quite have allies, but they have very few actual enemies in the Gut. Most people either find them harmless or don't want to mess with them at all.
Their leader is The Spider, an avatar of the Flesh Engine made up of the flesh of the most faithful. It has convinced them that it is the embodiment of the Flesh and that they must build a city with its body as its heart. Of course, the Engine is too self-centered to care about what happens on the surface, since it gets all the souls it needs in trade for creating extra demons for the other lords, but, like all true demons, it hates devils with a passion, and annoying Asmodeus in this way brings it glee that most demons only get when destroying cities.
It is fortunate that the Engine is more interested in creating than destroying.
giving you an object like an apple and then, by fey law, you are required to give it something back.
offer a contract in which they give you a magic item in exchange for something you have, and then stealing your body.
giving you an item you want in exchange for a mundane, seemingly regular common item that they have stolen from an entire village, such as an apple, meanwhile they removed all apples in and around the village. Not fulfilling the deal can result In various things, such as them being compensated with something else you have, such as your voice, a memory, your identity, or eternal servitude of your mortal soul.
and much, much more!
Never give a fey or fiend your name, and try to find out its name if possible. I am thinking about making a homebrew rule that restricts some fiend and fey special abilities. It would involve them only being able to use their special abilities and spell casting on a target if they know that target's name.

That’s cool, they should probably get some good ability if they know your name in exchange for worse abilities, that can help make it more balanced.

I feel like giving them worse abilities for knowing your name kinda defeats the idea of never, under any circumstance, giving a fey your name. It’s supposed to be a really bad thing to do.
unless I completely misunderstood your comment, which is quite likely, in which case, sorry.
I am also thinking about making rules for fun Fey magic, including the whole name stuff.

What is its stance on the Order of the Maw? They would probably be interested in flesh magics as a form of torture
You guys are awesome and mean so much to me. And mean so much to each other.
In the Flesh Forgers' opinion, the Order is useless except as a place to get extra parts.
