A bit distracted. I'm writing up a new class with weird mechanics.
Basically, it's a debuff-focused one-third caster the same way a Warlock is a damage-focused full caster: You can call it that, but you wouldn't really be explaining the thing in detail.
I'll post it here once I'm finished with the first draft. Feel free to ask any questions in the meantime.

Well, a half-caster means that the class gets spells at half the speed that regular caster classes do, capping out at level 5 instead of 9. For example, at level 8 a wizard would have 4th level spells, while a paladin would still only have 2nd. A third-caster is similar, but only one-third instead of half. Pretty much the only 1/3 casters out there are actually subclasses for martial classes, such as the Eldritch Knight fighter or the Arcane Trickster rogue.
