Y’all, who would have thought tavern roleplay would be used in real life? My college English teacher is teaching us how to write dialogue and as practice we essentially role played like we do here but with a pen and paper that we passed back and forth between partners.
It’s really good for developing writing skills and helping learn to write dialogue. Also the improv skills I got from taverns helped me soo much.
It really is great writing and improv practice. Because of it I’m now able to roleplay very sporadically and inject it into games that aren’t meant to have it but are more fun with it. When playing bluff and memory games, having a whole persona can really throw your opponent off. My two best personas right now are stoner hippie and Appalachian redneck.
