My name’s Gradius, this is my second account :P I love Hollow Knight and I have been on ddb for a while. Come rp with me anytime! It is my purpose. My title that was given to me by Drummer is…SPIRIT OF THE WEST, GUARDIAN OF THE HOLLOWS.

I'm going to try and play a vampire/summoner (both homebrew classes) in that campaign I was talking about before, since that was allowed by my DM.
I'm having difficulty picking out an aesthetic and coming up with a backstory. Right now all I have is that his resting place (most likely a coffin) is wielded as a weapon by his summoned minion.
I don't know how the summoner works, but maybe what we summons are the spirits of those he killed by drinking their blood.
Basically he has a single powerful minion under his command that is highly customizable. His in particular is an undead, so that could work.
If you still need a backstory: What if he became a vampire in order to survive a terminal disease? He could have had some illness that would have killed him, but he became a vampire instead in order to cure the disease with a curse.
That's a great idea, but it sounds like it would be difficult to do for even an antihero.
To be clear, I love it, but I just think choosing vampirism for some selfish reason dives into the "evil" territory pretty quickly.

They raised and cared for her until she turned 20 and became the third member of the Stanton Circus Strongmen (and woman) act. The crowd loved them. Sadly, a rival ringmaster caused a fire in the tent during one of the shows, causing the entire thing to burst up in flame, killing no one except Thalia’s adoptive fathers Toreck (Half-Orc) and Nickal (Human). The audience was appalled by this and immediately turned on Thalia, believing her demonic heritage somehow caused the flames. Thalia, traumatized by that night, ran away from the circus and vowed vengeance on the man who took her parents.
