If you want socialism, go right the hell ahead. You'll see that capitalism, while not great, is still the best. Nothing trumps human nature, though. No matter what system you are in, it will be evil and corrupt regardless.
This is actually why I became a Christian. One of the reasons, anyway. I prefer the idea that eventually things can be better (in heaven where humanity isn't corrupt anymore) than the idea that there one of these stupid solutions will solve everything.
