So, I've been thinking about swamps in DnD a lot, and I was thinking: how could I make an interesting PC out of this? Then I remembered the swamp level in Darkwood, one of my favorite games. Circle of the Blighted druid, anyone?
Now, what else fits with a swamp? Lizardfolk are kinda gator-y, so that's an easy reflavor. Given that they're now a lizardfolk druid, outlander or hermit makes a lot of sense for the background.
Now, what about his origins? Like his hometown and such? The game where I have the highest chance of being able to play this character is set in a modified version of Eberron, so I could include some modern-ish construction and tech, like steamboats and trains. Hmmm... now, where do we go from-
New Orleans. Infected with a terrible plague and slowly sinking into the swamp. Reclaimed by corrupted nature and the lizardfolk who worship it.
I'm in the middle of making a HUGE homebrew sci-fi setting, and since me and my PCs live in florida I made the planet of Nightona Beach (It's called that because A. Daytona Beach exists, and B. It has like 10 moons and just always has lunar eclipses anyway) and the main inhabitants are Lizardfolk, but they're basically just more chill Lizardfolk who don't, but can, eat people, they prefer glowing fish.

I use chatgpt for help, just to write out descriptions, and it helps with how rulings would work for stuff. I added a special bite attack for the Crocodilian-Alligators (They're two tribes of the same race, I forget the name I gave them.) because alligators have over 400 pounds of bite force, that's like 4 times my weight
There once was a man that was sleepy, so the man brewed himself a pot of coffee, but the coffee did not awaken him so he drank more and more. Soon then anxiety comes, buzzing, jittering, vibrations. Now cause of caffeination, he's just anxious and tired.

That sucks. Try and lay down, put your phone down, close your eyes and think peaceful happy thoughts.

I think they’re both named for Edgar Allan Poe.
