im with Nikoli, youre a cool guy Baalz, and im sorry we made you feel like an outcast
i usually feel like an outcast in every group im in, so i get where youre coming from
your characters and ideas are always amazing, and you are a good person
It's not that you guys were hostile or anything, and individually almost all of you were pretty accepting of my... absurdities. It was more the zeitgeist that felt wrong for me.
Like, the whole group was designed to be exclusive. I'm not that type of guy. Sure, it's fun to be special, but the tavern itself felt like it was an actual presence. A xenophobic, crawling thing that I was intruding on, myself a foreign body in a hostile corpus that hadn't yet noticed me.
You didn't do anything wrong. I'm not the kind of person that gets along with, well, much of anything. As you say, I have good ideas, but it boils down, once again, to going against the zeitgeist too much. My ideas are wild and disturbing, and they push away swathes of people, carving through the lowest common denominator and leaving no one but the few with very open minds and strong stomachs.
I have nothing against most of you, and even the few I don't actively like are really cool. But you guys weren't for me. I like the Spider Guild and Dragonslayer Club because they are so accepting. I guess the best way to put it is that I like guilds, not clubs. Guilds build off themselves, and they expand like an organism. They are designed to make themselves stronger through diversity, incorporating the ideas of those within. If you fulfill the criteria, you're in. Clubs want to be exclusive. They grow slowly and steadily. If you are different, you don't belong.

I understand that and felt the same way about that tavern. The way they were exclusive and ignored people was frustrating, but I decided to just ignore it (as well as I could) and pretend that boundary wasn't there. I have found that the awkward barriers in real life are hard to break through, but if you just do it you enjoy yourself much more. I tried to apply that there as much as I could but because this is online they had to take the action to notice you and that often did not happen.
Your sort of things do often scare people away, but I admire it when someone makes their own art and does it because it is the type of art they like, not an attempt to please others. I ain't a huge fan of body horror and I don't understand the culinary arts, but I try to keep an open mind and appreciate your work, even if it isn't my style.
I've been watching how your eyes move to the ground And I hear you change your story every time that I'm around You can tell me what you want, say what you will But I'm done with you, I'm done with what you say you think is real
The Legacy Tavern wasn't super inclusive, yeah. I got shunned from a few things when I first joined the forums, including the end of the world tavern. I ended up just staying here lmao, with Klein, Vitus and Yon if I'm remembering correctly. But we move on I guess. The OG taverners go down in history as the creator of this whole thing, and Bullethalk is forever a legend. Maybe they weren't super inclusive (and frankly, a few were downright mean to me and others) but they had a good time here on the forums, taverning, so I'm not one to sour the memory of them. They may come back at some point anyways lmao, so maybe memory isn't the right word. I created the Twinkling Stars Tavern back in September of last year (damn that feels long ago now) with a ton of help from Yon and Nothic, and, well, loads of others too. I feel like from there we all started making our own taverns, away from the og ones, and there was less conflict all around. All the people who felt unincluded (not necessarily saying this is the fault of the og taverners) got together and made each other more included, and that's the new generation. The og's might be gone, but we're taverners just as much as they are, and frankly, we're more including and diverse.
No hate towards anyone here, that's just how I feel about it all lmao. We're like, the next wave of Adohands roleplayers. It doesn't have to just be taverns either, we're more creative than that. All the cult and guild roleplay too, the pbp's, the ideas and concepts. I've been here a year and a half now, but I'm still very much part of the next generation of taverners lol, still lacking experience here and there and not a part of all the tavern history. But in all my time here, I've been striving to go down in Adohands history, and Y'all are coming with me. We are the new taverners, some of the best too.
If that sounds totally overdramatized then good, its meant to be 💪

Just a question, what tavern are you talking about?
Adventurer's Legacy
It's a PM tavern that was supposed to be an extension of Bullethawk's legacy, thus the name.
