So, little update on the character: I'm going for a scarecrow/harvest aesthetic. Possibly making them an undead fey.
That's cool and it fits well. The Harvest aesthetic is always awesome but I have trouble coming up with good scarecrow themed characters. Do you know what role the pumpkins will play in your design?
Not yet. I was thinking of not making him a scarecrow himself, but he surrounds himself with them.
So, this is kinda weird, but I was thinking he would, just like a scarecrow, be mimicking a human to elicit a specific reaction from those around him. He wears a wax mask and gloves that are indistinguishable from a normal human's face and hands, but when struck his true nature is revealed, but until then not even truesight will expose him.

That is an interesting idea. Do you know why he disguises himself, what reaction he is going for? If you want to stay close to the scarecrow theme you could make him a fear eater. Maybe he purposefully tries to get his victims to unmask him so that he can taste their succulent fear and shock. What if his human disguise is the size of a normal man, but he is actually a giant horrifying bird that fits in the small suit and when it is removed his true size is revealed? This character has a great Halloween theme, crows, harvest, even masks.
I'm just trying to help flesh out the character. If you would rather reveal information organically through roleplay then you don't have to take any of this.

bro how is your feedback so good, like every time. Mindblowing. Mine isn't anywhere as helpful. As seen below
Used by a necromancy cult to scare visitors away. The cult was disbanded by the local authorities, but ambient magical energy remained and animated the creature.

I’m a Christian too, but I think as long as you don’t actually deal with Satanism, dabbling in white magic (like Wicca) or psychic powers is ok. This is just my own personal opinion though, so I don’t expect everyone to agree with me.
I’m curious, have you ever seen or met someone who was a Satanist? Because in my experience I’ve only seen people called Satanists, and never seen a “real” one. (Like when some Christians say that I and others are Satanist for being/siding with LGBTQIA+ people and stuff like that)
Do y'all actually know what Satanism is? Because it actually has literally nothing to do with the devil and everything to do with being a decent person.
The Seven Tenants of Satanism essentially boil down to: don't be an a**hole. That's all it is.
No. I did not know that. I was taught the opposite.
I was too. My biological father's family is extremely religious (two of my cousins are on their missions), so I was forced to go to church occasionally.
I always thought this, that there’s really no one who worships a Devil, it’s just something used to portray someone with disagreements or someone who isn’t religious and Evil
There are Satanists who do worship Satan. I have listened to some, read about them and seen them. They do exist. You are right though in that there are some people who call things Satanic because they think it is evil. There are plenty of evil things that aren’t Satanic and there are plenty of things that have been called Satanic but obviously aren’t, like DND and heavy metal. Please don’t lump all Christians under the category of people who throw the term “Satanic” about.
Partly why that message is deleted, I guess I deleted it too late though

Ooh, and maybe it’s not necessarily just one creature. More like an undead collective of fractured souls, constantly in conflict with each other for control of the scarecrow’s body.
Why the pumpkin head in particular? Because the necromancers thought it was scary, maybe. Or they grew pumpkins! I dunno.

Well good sir or madam, or [third option filler], you are very big brain
Yeah, sorry about that. Didn't mean to resurface a topic after everyone was finished. We should probably move on.
Smart. You've got a great concept.
