Just finished the first two episodes of the Netflix Avatar. First one felt a bit rough in places. Second one was better. Hopeful they keep the upwards trajectory.
And it's interesting seeing what's changed and what's stayed the same. I'm looking forward to keeping on with the series. The Omashu episode is next.
The first couple of episodes for the animated series were rough as well, so I’m still holding out hope.
For me I felt like the first two episodes of the original (so comparing to the first episode of the Netflix) were stronger. (Although I'm also not sure how much nostalgia has factored in.) But at the same time, I'm not sure how the Netflix series is going to carry through on what they changed in the first episode later on. So maybe it'll become stronger as things go.
But, to be fair, I also don't mind The Great Divide which is heavily panned by the fanbase from what I've seen. (I like the fight with the canyon crawlers and Aang getting a little devious with his 'historical story' of the Sacred Orb.) So even in the original's weaker moments, I still like it.
I haven’t watched the new one yet but I hope to do so soon.
I thought The Great Divide was awesome. It was a super creative story.

I liked it too, I believe the main complaint for most fans is that it didn’t exactly add anything to the whole plot, and is considered to be a filler episode.

Maybe it was, but it was a well written filler episode.
They more than make up for their shooting strength by dying as soon as anyone gets in melee with them
No matter what you say, they are one of the most reliably balanced factions, almost always keeping super close to a nice 50% win rate through all the balance dataslates and editions

I like Warlocks
I like guitars (coming up on my fifth year of playing!)
I want to be a musician/stay-at-home dad when I grow up
Recently obsessing over Warhammer 40k, specifically the T’au empire

I’m doing mighty fine myself.
