Abaddon, the pit of locusts and deepest part of hell, is actually a species of flesh eating cicadas that only wake up when Volcanoes erupt. There are large populations of them sleeping at Yellowstone, Mt. Vesuvius, and various other volcanoes across the world. They are resistant to heat and are around the size of baseballs.
Dionysus, the god of wine and healing, is a delusional hobo living on the streets of boston, selling painted bottles of vinegar to people as wine, clamoring it has healing properties for a nickel.

Though I also like the idea that Dionysus (trying to give all of these a sort of SCP/science magically vibe, Poseidon is a giant Salamander) is some sort of creature that lives in gardens and tends to plants that make you see things that aren’t actually there, as he is the god of madness as well. He is technically the plants itself, the person tending to them literally a random person taken over by the plants.

Though is there a general theme to your nightmares? I'm no expert, but have had some success in modifying a subset of recurrent dream-stuff. (Basically there's some events I'll work and usually after they'd finish the following night I'd have a dream where it was still going on with tons of problems, making sleep pretty restless. Eventually was able to get a mindset applied to those dream of recognizing it wasn't real and not putting up with any of the BS people came to me with in those dreams.)
