The Afterglow thread is pretty good though so I suggest checking that one out...idk if the Messy Mammoth is still going but that one was fun too even though I never really participated. Lords Rest in is usually pretty active...gah I'm brain dead I can't really think of any others. Just join whatever you want to and make sure you read the rules -- they typically put a codeword in there.

One criticism I've seen is that by automating some of the character creation process, some people don't understand where the numbers on things are coming from. But IMO so long as you take time to understand it, then it's a nice tool to use when you're brand new to DnD.
