At session 0 of the campaign, roll a number from 1 to 30. Whatever number it lands on, the player characters have to be a monster of that CR (their choice) for the entirety of the campaign.
Imagine rolling a 30 and the entire party is just tarrasques or something. Or they're CR 1 and immediately die of 1d4 literally anything damage. The possibilities are endless.
CR 1 can be somewhat beefy. dire wolf is CR1. Gotta be CR 0 or 1/8 to die of 1d4.
