Hey guys, I'm doing a randomized SoulSilver nuzlocke, and I need your help on choosing which starter to go with.
Are the starters randomized as well? If so, what are the options? If not, I’d probably go with Totodile, it’s line is the most solid and has the greatest coverage spread for its moves.
Yes they're randomized, and the options are Buizel, Ninetales, and Jirachi. In my regular playthrough I did pick Totodile though.
Jirachi hands down. Steel is a great defensive typing, and it will start with one strong move in confusion, and wish which is a healing move that will be helpful in keeping the bugger alive while not having to use up potions as fast. Plus it has good stats all around.

The root of the problem is that I don't know if it's ethical to just pick the Mythical and sweep or pick a regular 'mon and play the game as intended, but I'm also terrified that Silver will get Jirachi if I don't and just kill my entire team.
Jirachi is strong but it isn’t a monster like a lot of legendaries, just a good all arounder since it has 100 base stats in each category.
However, if you feel strongly against it, go with Buizel. Nintales’s level up move pool is garbage because it is a stone evolution.
