In my genuine opinion, that doesn't sound too fun unless if it was something set up in advance. It just limits what that character can do, instead of introducing a new concept it's just making that person harder to use.
Sometimes the best way to revive a thread is just to keep posting on it, and if it still doesn't revive then that's just unlucky. If you're looking to add new content though, maybe do an event like what the nightmare shift did? Or add something else for a new thing or rework the core (or keep it as is, I'm just giving my own opinion).
