Welp. I’m feel like being creative but am not inspired. Anybody got a homebrew idea for me?
Oh sure.
Standard army characters. troops, war machines, that kind of thing.
A creepier dungeon ooze.
A bow, that bends light to use Arcane archer like abilities. (I'm working on this one, I'm calling it the Rainbow.)
1. Platoon, which is basically a swarm of soldiers. 2. Going to take some inspiration from the new Thunderbolts*. 3. I’m not going to do that because you already are, if that’s fine.
Had the first sess of a campaign with some friends since Valentine's Day. (Obviously we were free that night.) Was nice to make some progress once more and start getting back into the swing of things.
Also got to see the delightfully horrified face of a friend from song of the things we did.
Now we're in hell with a goal of resurrecting a companion of ours. (And the DM, who has that character since we each swap playing/DMing, intentionally put his character in hell on account of deserving it.) Should be interesting.
An amusing moment was when we met a celestial catfish god (literally the fish type) and our Warlock asked it, "Are animals indeed trying to take over the world?" And the catfish god is like, "Yes, but no one will ever believe you."
But Sonic music is such a bop I wanna bop and never stop hah

I go by She/her pronouns and am proudly lesbian. I'm a big fan of Harry Potter, The Amazing Digital Circus, Sonic the Hedgehog, The Good Place, The Drew Carey Show, Futurama, and I think there's probably more but...
I use CR as a rough estimate, it’s important for proficiency bonuses but the strength of different CRs varies so wildly. Using an exact measurement isn’t really helpful at all for party balance, you kinda have to eyeball it, but it’s a good framework for new DMs to follow so they don’t TPK early. I do think a CR-like system is necessary just for grouping monster power level but I would not at all use it for an encounter where like one CR 13 monster equals 4 level 13 adventurers, because both the monster and the player capabilities are variable.
