Vitus! Speaking of gardening, I’ve been planting lots lately!
I have two strawberries, two bell peppers, a Parsley and basil (I think) and then an assortment of succulents and flowers!
Nice! I'm curious how big your strawberries will get compared to mine. (Mine are small but delicious.) I've never grown peppers nor parsley, but basil is quite a delight. If you find you're not using much of it, try putting some leaves in scrambled eggs.
Doing okay. Had some rough patches but better. Lent and Easter went well. (IIRC you're a devout Presbyterian, right? So how was your Easter?) Worked some events and still continuing on the job hunt. With it being the beginning of planting season gonna have to take some time to garden. Got most of my herbs and gonna get some more strawberries at some point.
With DDB got friends whose college semesters are finished up so hoping we'll be able to get some sesses. (For the most part it's been one of the guys and myself playing Civ V together.)
How are things going for you?
Baptist, not Presbyterian, but close enough. I just don't baptize babies. Easter was awesome and greatly encouraging. Job hunting ain't fun but I hope you're able to find something worth doing. You're Catholic right? I hear you got a new head of the church recently.
That's great that you'll be able to do more Dnd soon. What with the end of the school year my group has had trouble meeting but soon we'll start an Obojima campaign and continue our Southern Gothic/Appalachian Folk horror game. We finished an old campaign so the Objojima one will replace that.
Things have been busy because I'm moving soon but overall all its been pretty good. Summer looks more busy than last semester which is weird but I'll get through it.
Nice to hear your Easter was good. And yep, Catholic. Been liking what I've heard of Pope Leo XIV so far. And as a funny story on Monday the new pope actually influenced dinner. There's been quite a few memes that he's going to excommunicate those that don't eat deep dish pizza (since he was born in Chicagoland) and so when the meats in my fridge weren't defrosted enough and the plan changed to ordering out, I had a bit of a taste for it. :P
Objojima is the new anime setting that DDB also started selling a couple months ago, right? Seems like an interesting, and delightful, mix of themes. Will you be DMing that or one of your friends?
Summer being more busy than the semester is certainly weird as you said. Gonna be doing a lot of work at home or so?

Truly, the pope has already brought about great changes if he is influencing your supper.
Yeah, that's Obojima. It's inspired by Studio Ghibli and Zelda and the world is very rich. A friend is DMing, I'll be playing a frog barbarian that can brew potions in his gut and eat anything.
Not at home exactly, but there will be some of that. The place I work at is losing a lot of its workers, including me, so we are picking up the slack and training new folk. And since it's an afterschool program we plan a lot of field trips and events over the summer that take up longer portions of the day. I'm also moving to Scotland so I have to raise the money, work on visas, etc.
Morning y'all. Possibly final session of DnD club today. (Or it's next week, idk.) I missed the last couple because of eye doctor stuff but I'm glad I'm able to be there for the end.
Also, I realized my thread idea was just the Matrix, but with eldritch horror AI generation...

Lol. I mentioned I had a thread idea offhand a bit ago, I just don't think anyone saw it. I didn't provide any detail other then "Mr Krabs! I have an idea!" If that's what you're asking about. Wouldn't run it unless TSF dies tho, and I'm hoping that that doesn't happen for a while.

Vitus, something I've been curious about From what I understand the pope is considered the word of god, like whatever they say is kinda like gods word, and therefore people will follow what they say. But obviously popes can contradict each other, they don't all agree on every subject, so what does that mean for Catholics? Like if one pope thought that Gay people were sinful, and the next said they were fine. Those contradict, but they would've both been considered correct? From what I understand of religion god doesn't really change their opinions like a human would
Sorry If something about that is just a misconception, I'm not extremely religious and though my parents went to college to study Christianity it wasn't specifically Catholicism, so they weren't as sure about everything we were talking about with the pope

No worries on misconceptions. (Heck, I've had some of my own in the past.) And for that matter, there's definitely finer details I'm not the best on.
The pope is considered the head of the church and has authority to speak infallibly (ex cathedra) on matters. But there's also infallibility with the church in union with the pope. The only two ex cathedra statements are on the Marian dogmas of the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption. (That Mary was preserved from Original Sin and that Mary was assumed, body and soul, into Heaven.) But you also have various ecumenical councils too that define doctrine.
As a note, while it wasn't mentioned by you one common misconception of papal infallibility is that it means the pope is sinless. Which it doesn't. (Lord knows we've had some pretty sinful people in the papacy. Popes Alexander VI and Benedict IX tend to top those lists.)
In terms of the contradicting, there is the belief that the pope *can't* infallibly teach error. Because the whole point of infallibility is to safeguard the faith. So for example a pope could never infallibly teach that Jesus wasn't crucified. (That would kinda break the whole Christian faith.) But popes can have personal opinions that aren't infallible. One example I think of comes from Pope Francis when asked about hell said, "What I am going to say is not a dogma of faith but my own personal view: I like to think of hell as empty; I hope it is." (While the existence of hell is a doctrine, there's no definitive teachings on how many will go there. So there's views with differing degrees of optimism.) And of course on things that aren't matters of faith there's also no an expectation of infallibility.
(On the matter of homosexuality, not something I'd want to get into deeply here. But I will note Catholicism doesn't teach that having a homosexual orientation is in and of itself sinful. Just as having a heterosexual isn't inherently sinful, but someone with a heterosexual orientation could for example commit adultery which *would* be an issue.)
One site I do like, in case you've got other questions too, is https://www.catholic.com/ aka Catholic Answers. They're one of my go-tos that generally has at least something (even if not comprehensive) on most Catholic-related questions.
