Ain't that the truth. I grew up on hand me down beholders from my cousin Drazzmorg the Lich.
Howdy, Vitus! How've you been?
Yo!
I've been doing alright. Got something part-time going while on the main search. (And like the coworkers/work.) Also was recently added to my parish's pastoral council so getting acquainted with that.
Putting together another D&D group too, sent out chats to some groups I'm in at my local parish and also at other ones. So looking forward to our first one-shot.

How are things for you?
That's cool to hear! What sort of work do you do as part of the pastoral council? Did you need any church training beforehand?
I've successfully moved to Scotland and I now live on a small island off the north coast, Orkney. I haven't been able to play Dnd since coming here but I'd like to try to continue some of my old companions online and I found out some of the kids here like to play so I may be able to join them.

It's kind of getting the pulse of the parish essentially.
So far I've been to one meeting with another coming up. General thing was checking some things and getting summaries from other committees. I decided to be the pastoral council representative with the Faith Formation group but their monthly meeting got cancelled this week, however a normal duty would be getting a summary of how they're doing. (What's going good. What could be better. How could the parish support them?) Also will be at a welcoming table in the Narthex from time to time.
Nice on the move. Just a place you wanted to live or got family there? (Both?) I'll also admit the reason I know where Orkney is comes from a board game my father has called Brittania (IIRC) that goes from the fall of Rome to the Norman invasion over Britain and you get points for controlling various territories. (Instead of playing one group you instead play a variety of groups throughout the years. So the person that controls the Romans, then Romano British, is later playing the Norwegians after the last remnants of Rome have inevitably fallen for example.)
Hope you're able to get in with the kids for D&D. (Remember to speak their bussin' Ohio language, fr fr.) And for online play with buddies I find Owlbear Rodeo is a nice VTT to use.

Oh cool, what exactly is the Faith Formation group if you don't mind me asking?
I moved over here for an internship in the church. It's a two year long thing but I hope to move here permanently afterward to serve in a church. That sounds like a really cool game design. I first heard about Orkney in Frankenstein. It's the tiny deserted island Dr. Frankenstein goes to build the bride for his monster.
Six seven six seven, they'll get the skibidi in the chat fr fr. I've heard about Owlbear Rodeo, thanks for the recommendation. I've been hoping to find something that works so I'll look into that further.

Faith Formation is in charge of things like religious education (First Communion, Confirmation, OCIA [process of becoming Catholic], etc.) For example right now my parish is doing an Alpha program. (Each week starts with a video on a topic. Last week's was prayer for example. And then small group discussion.)
I'll admit I forget the exact details, but were you in seminary to be a pastor? Or doing a different type of work with the church?
Neat on learning Orkney from Frankenstein. (I admit I didn't remember that detail.) Good book, one of the few assigned readings I tore through in high school.
And glad I could help with the suggestion, my rizzy friend.

I went to an art display recently and there was one made by a ton of kids, and it was a ton of painted CDs on a massive board, which made a sunflower. The discs had little messages on them, and I kid you not like 90% of them just said 67
