A booming voice comes from everywhere and nowhere at the same time, saying "Roll a DEX DC 17 Saving Throw to avoid being burned by this door in flames."
Crilgor says "What's DEX? What's a DC? What does 17 have to do with anything? What do I roll?"

The smoke of the burning door provokes to a rat to run towards the nearest player.......... If there are noone in an area of 60 ft around, the rat continues running.

I'm going to think for a minute before opening the fire chest again.
You open the fire chest - the lid is cold now, as is the rest of the room now that the cold fire is the only one burning - and find that it is once again filled with firewood, unburnt.
I try to grab a log of the hot fire, put the hot fire out, then dip the non-burning log into the cold fire. Then I would like to try to freeze the door mechanism off with the cold fire.
(taking this as your intended action) you pick up one of the logs from the chest marked with a fire rune and dip it in the cold fire. As soon as it touches the flames, the log you're holding blazes up in your hand, kicking off a lot of heat. Make me a dexterity roll?
The unexpected flare of fire scalds your hand, causing 3 fire damage.
You drop the log into the cold fire, and the flames immediately switch from white to a roaring yellow, and a wave of heat kicks out into the room from it. Over the roar of the flames, you start to hear the steady drip-drip-drip as the ice coating the walls, ceiling and machinery in the chamber begins to melt.

The mechanism is made of metal, the door of stone, but you can try it if you want!
Once again, apologies for the delay!
If we heat up the mechanism, though, it might melt... right? Nevermind, cooling it down would make it contract. That'd be better. "Anyone here pick locks?"

“I can blow stuff up, which is like, picking locks with less finesse”
Whilst you're discussing the merits of alternate means of opening the door, the room has heated up to perhaps just above comfortable. The ice has all melted off, revealing the complete mechanisms of the machine in the room to the left. A slight splashing is coming from the room to the right as the conveyor scoops just a tiniest bit of water that has accumulated in the bottom of the pit in there.

I wake up from being in a comatose state from the cold and say, "that was a nice catnap, I haven't had one like that in 200 years". I look around at all the fire and feel right at home now I walk up to the door inspect the mechanisms.
You open the Ice Chest, Water Chest and Air Chest and inside each of them you find firewood; The wood in the ice chest if coated in frost, the wood in the water chest feels damp, and the wood in the air chest is so light that it practically bobs around.
You climb onto the conveyor belt (which is running much smoother than when it was icy) and it easily carries your weight up into the roof. It dumps you into a stone channel which leads across to a huge brass bowl, which you recognize as the roof of the room below. The air above it shimmers with heat from the fire below it, and the air is hot. The bowl is hanging on chains from another mechanism which leads over to the door. The purpose of the mechanism seems clear - if the bowl pulls down on the mechanism, it will open the door.

Hello!
Hey everyone! apologies for going quiet, it was easter weekend, the weather was lovely and the computer didn't get turned on once!
