Yes, it would... on second thought, I take something heavy out of my backpack and put it in the bowl. Maybe a quarterstaff or something like that.

You take the quarterstaff and throw it into the bowl. Where the wood touches the metal it smokes slightly, but it being a straight stick in a curved bowl it only touches at the ends. The bowl doesn't move at all from the weight (It's the size of the room below, so easily 15ft across). Below the channel you're standing in, a trickle of water from the scoop conveyor drips slowly into the bowl, evaporating in a hiss as each drop touches the hot metal.
Wow! Jerry? Extinguish a fire? I thought I'd never see the day!
Okay, I'll take a smaller bowl from my backpack and fill it up with conveyor belt water. Then I'll splash the water on the fire.

We might need to fill the pot with water, I’m going to try to extinguish the fire underneath it.
The fire is about 3ft across in a circular fire pit, and it's burning fiercely. How do you want to try and put it out? (that's just information, not an attempt to stop you!)

Okay, I'll take a smaller bowl from my backpack and fill it up with conveyor belt water. Then I'll splash the water on the fire.
You easily hitch a ride back down the conveyor to the ground floor, and manage to scoop a small amount of water from the bottom of the pit. Throwing it on the fire liberates some steam and a bit of a hiss, but the flames burn on.

If the fire isn't extinguished in 10 minutes, I get on my quarterstaff. In the bowl.

Yep, genasi. Also, I can completely quench the flames

Welcome, all you need is a name for your character, and as a bonus you can offer a brief description (EG Jerry the 6ft. tall pyromaniac, Stella the Artificer, Crilgor the lanky black dragonborn, Bill the Large Leonin, Hunter the Nature Elf Ranger, Tiamat the Red Dragonborn, Tom who wears a suit, all of which are taken!).
With a series of gestures, you create a 10-gallon ball of water which thumps down onto the bonfire. With a loud hissing and a billow of steam, the fire goes out, leaving a pile of damp, heavily steaming firewood in the fire pit. The temperature of the room comes back down to a comfortable temperature.
• a room to the left with a set of machinery, with a large metal tank covered in scorch marks, which is connected to the bolt holding the door closed, which has recently been fully revealed by the ice melting. Tom (Mechlore) was investigating these but hasn't rolled yet.
• a room to the right with a machine scooping from an empty pit and lifting into the ceiling, where it would dump onto a channel which leads to the huge metal bowl which is the ceiling of the first room, over the fire pit.
• a metal bowl for a ceiling which is connected to the door, such that when the bowl is pulled down, the door would swing open - were it not for the bolt that's holding it shut.
• A fire pit which was burning with cold, white flames when you arrived, 4 chests of assorted firewood with 4 elemental symbols on them (fire, water, ice and air), and 2 fireplaces facing the doors to the left and right, with the firepit directly in between them and the door opposite. Thus far you have discovered that the wood from the fire chest burns very, very hot.
The fire pit, strangely, is still steaming. Some patches of the firewood in the pit are drying out, and small flames are flaring up on the dry surfaces before being extinguished by the steam.
I would like to place a log from the water chest into the fire.
You pick one of the damp logs out of the water chest and place it on the fire. As soon as the log touches down, dark blue flames erupt from the fire pit, giving off neither heat nor light, but instead a steady flow of water pours out from the gaps between the wood in the fire pit, creating a large, spreading puddle of water around the pit. It looks as though a pipe has burst underneath the fire pit and the water is welling out.
I get inside the bowl.

Would that be the bowl that is radiating heat, and is currently suspended directly above an incredibly hot fire? Just checking.

Are there any riddles anywhere?
Farewell.
In a strange turn of events, no!
All you have is:
• a room to the left with a set of machinery, with a large metal tank covered in scorch marks, which is connected to the bolt holding the door closed, which has recently been fully revealed by the ice melting. Tom (Mechlore) was investigating these but hasn't rolled yet.
