All races are available. In your backstory, please describe how you got to The Rock of Bral, and why you are turning to adventuring. You should have access to Spelljammer to help with the character creation (and any other books I have)
Rando the Randomized, driven by an insatiable curiosity and a desire to expand his magical repertoire, embarked on a voyage beyond the familiar depths of the ocean and ventured into the vastness of the cosmos. He had heard tales of an enigmatic and mystical place known as The Rock of Bral, a massive asteroid turned bustling city located within the Spelljammer universe.
Rando's interest was piqued by the rumors surrounding The Rock of Bral. It was said to be a melting pot of various species, cultures, and magical practices, drawing individuals from countless worlds and realms. The diversity and potential for learning in such a place fascinated Rando, and he yearned to explore the untapped magical energies that permeated the asteroid city.
The Rock of Bral was known for being a hub of trade, knowledge, and adventure. Rando believed that his unique brand of illusion-focused magic could find new depths of expression in this cosmopolitan environment. He imagined the countless interactions he could have with mages, scholars, and practitioners of different magical traditions, envisioning a rich tapestry of knowledge and perspectives that would fuel his magical growth.
Additionally, Rando had heard whispers of ancient artifacts and forgotten spells rumored to be found within The Rock of Bral. These powerful relics were said to possess great potential and could unlock new dimensions of magic previously unexplored by Rando. The prospect of discovering such treasures and unraveling their secrets motivated him further.
By traveling to The Rock of Bral, Rando aimed to immerse himself in a diverse magical community, engage in knowledge exchanges, and uncover hidden magical secrets. He hoped to push the boundaries of his illusion-focused magic, incorporating new techniques, spells, and insights into his repertoire. In doing so, Rando sought not only personal growth but also the means to contribute to the enrichment and evolution of magical practices in the Spelljammer universe.
Tink was built many years ago and served on a Spelljammer ship. His creator passed away from an accident but that’s all he remembers. The Spelljammer deleted much of his memory and left him on the Rock to fend for himself. He now searches for a new family.
Oox (they/Oox) was part of a Plasmoid starcaravan tent revival show that visited planets, spread the word of Celestian, performed healings, and hoped to add more constituted members to their amorphous constituency.
At the young (but already fully adult) age of 1 1/2, their mentor Flimpz discovered that Oox was not robbing the guests at their healing services, and finding that Oox was inadequately industrious for a Plasmoid, Flimpz expelled Oox from the caravan, giving him only a couple of weapons and some armor from the traveling security carriage.
Oox then set out to find Celestian on their own. In their own way.
"I will touch the face of the Star Wanderer so that we might better this universe as one." - Oox, age 2 1/2
Oox has come to Rock of Bral in hopes of communing with Celestian among his throngs of devotees there.
Note: Plasmoids reach adulthood immediately due to birth by mitosis. Oox remembers some of the experiences of their life previously as Kuwiwix, including how to be an adventurer, despite only being 3 years old. The result is a creature who bears childlike curiosity and generational memory and wisdom.
At the Bites and Bytes tavern and supply shop, three travelers stand in front of a job board. A collage of advertisements, gig jobs, and wanted posters clutter their vision.
Most are trash layered from previous posting, but three stand out from the rest.
The local slum lord, Pearl, doubled rent for all her tenants in the Low City. You are not alone in looking for more work quick. You each have 5 gold to your name, and rent due for 10 gold at the end of the week.
Directly in front of you is a shop gleaming with polished silver walls that wrap around the irregularly shaped plot. Above it, hovering in air are the glowing words,
Etheria Jaunts'
Bits and Bytes
The double doors are to your right.
An odd and varied crowd continues on its way with the hustle and bustle of city life. Everyone is generally minding their own business save the numerous hawkers selling their wares (one even selling a hawk).
"Of course", Yurireplies. "As fate would have it, they cross along Hammer Street on your way to the College of Celestian, if that is your destination"?
Yuriunfolds the map and turns to show you. He points to the Lesser Market on the map and moves his black clawed finger north to Hammer Street. He also gestures a direction towards the north end of the market. "Continue on to Temple Street when you would like to visit the college".
"I welcome your kindness... Yuri. After I assist the poster of this bill for a missing cat, I do wish to visit the College of Celestian. Are you a follower of the Star Wanderer? If so, it's truly a blessing that you happened upon me here."
Oox is going to give Yuri a once over, quietly skeptical of his helpfulness. Insight: natural 1+3 for a 4 total. oof.
Yuri replies, "I respect the followers of Celestian, as all do who must trust their pilot in Wildspace. They produce excellent Spelljamming pilots. I, however, follow a different path."
"Respect is all that Celestian asks, as we must respect the dance of the planets and flow of the stars," Oox replies. "May I purchase you an ale in this... Bits and Bytes, Yuri? Perhaps you can tell me more about this place."

OOC
Perception Check please.
Being friendly, Tink turns to the others looking at the posters. "Hello! May the stars keep you warm!"
Oox stares at the Cat poster, wondering if Celestian would want them to rescue the poor animal.
Perception 11
Oox is intrigued by the cat missing poster. There is an address listed at the bottom:
Please bring to the corner of Hammer and Mainmast Streets.
Introductions and descriptions as you would to each other please.
Then we will proceed with events in the environment.
Perception or any other checks you want to make from Tink and Rando (or whomever Rando evolves into).
I rolled a 15 perception
Tink looks out among the flow of living traffic, and meets eyes with a figure leaning against the wall across the street behind him.
As if by invitation, it casually strolls toward the group.
It says, "Hello! You look pretty new to the Rock. I'm Yuri."
He reaches into his coat, and removes a folded paper that would seem to be a map from the side that is showing. "You look like you could use this".
Oox quickly records the information from the missing cat poster and turns to the small, friendly humanoid and fox-like creature.
"I am searching for Celestian's grace in this place. Are you fellow travelers of the path of immortal knowledge and galactic salvation?"
Oox eyes the folded map, adding, "Does that map show where Hammer and Mainmast Streets intersect, by chance?"
"Of course", Yuri replies. "As fate would have it, they cross along Hammer Street on your way to the College of Celestian, if that is your destination"?

Yuri unfolds the map and turns to show you. He points to the Lesser Market on the map and moves his black clawed finger north to Hammer Street. He also gestures a direction towards the north end of the market. "Continue on to Temple Street when you would like to visit the college".

Oox may not be the best at reading body language, but Yuri seems completely trustworthy. The others can form their own options with an Insight roll.
"Respect is all that Celestian asks, as we must respect the dance of the planets and flow of the stars," Oox replies. "May I purchase you an ale in this... Bits and Bytes, Yuri? Perhaps you can tell me more about this place."
Yuri smiles with his foxish grin. "I was going to head on my way, but I it is hard to turn down offered libation".
"Come with me. If Etheria isn't too busy, maybe I can introduce you".
With that he heads off toward the shinny silver double doors. As he approaches, they open before him and you hear the chime of a bell.
"Tink would like to come too if you can help me locate the ones I need. Observing is essential."
Persuasion: 10
Please make a Perception or Investigation check as Yuri walks away.
