Hello, I am a new DM (and new to dnd beyond and pbp) and I am excited to play through the Tyranny of Dragons campaign with 4 players. It would be great if at least one of the players is experienced and would be willing to make suggestions and call me out on any mistakes I make, you don't have to worry about hurting my feelings :D. I really like when players are goofy and creative!
Guidelines and Info
Please use fixed score or point buy
Characters will start at level one (I will be using the milestone experience method for character advancement)
Please only create characters composed of races and classes contained in the standard PHB (I think this will help me as I get the swing of things)
Posting every 48 hours would be ideal, but there can obviously be exceptions if life gets in the way. I'm pretty busy, but should be able to post most evenings M-F (EST), and sporadically on Saturdays and Sundays
Please choose one of the following bonds for your character
Bond (d10) 1. Leosin Erlanthar, a wandering monk, once saved your life. He's sent urgent word for you to meet him in a small town called Greenest. Looks like it's time to pay off that debt. 2. When an orc raid drove your family from your home, the people of Greenest took you in. Anyone who threatens Greenest is your sworn enemy. 3. Every five nights, you have a strange sequence of apocalyptic dreams. The world is destroyed by cold, choking fumes, lightning storms, waves of acid, and horrible fire. Each time, the dream ends with ten evil eyes glaring at you from the darkness. You feel a strange compulsion to travel to Greenest. Perhaps the answer to the riddle of your dreams awaits you there. 4. Ontharr Frume, a crusading warrior and champion of good, is your friend and mentor. He has asked you to travel to Greenest is search of rumors of increasing dragon activity. 5. You have heard rumors that your close childhood friend,a half-elf named Talis, has been kidnapped by a strange group of dragon cultists. Your investigations into the cult have led you to the town of Greenest. You must save her! 6. Being the grandchild of a renowned dragon slayer is usually a good way to impress people, but just last week a gang of ruffians attacked you. You barely escaped with your life, but as you fled the ruffians told you that the Cult of the Dragon never forgets and always avenges. You're hoping to lie low in a sleepy little town called Greenest until this blows over. 7. On his deathbed, your father confessed that he had become involved in a group called the Cult of the Dragon. They paid him to smuggle goods across the Sword Coast. Wracked by guilt, he begged your to investigate the cult and undo the evil he may have helped foster. He urged you to begin your search in a town called Greenest. 8. The dragons destroyed everything you hold dear. They killed your family and destroyed your home. Now, with nothing but what you carry on your back and a horrid scar of the near fatal wounds you sustained in the attack, you seek revenge. 9. You and your family were members of the Cult of the Dragon, until your rivals in the cult arranged to wipe you out. Though they slaughtered your kin, you survived--but they think you're dead, and now is your chance for vengeance! Your hit list consists of three names: A human cultist named Frulam Mondath, a half-orc named Bog Luck, and a half-dragon named Rezmir. You have arrived in Greenest, knowing it's the next on the cult's list of targets. 10. You have a secret. You once were a gold dragon who served Bahamut. You were too proud and vain, to the point that Bahamut decided to teach you a lesson. You have been trapped in a weak, humanoid body, with your memories of your former life but a dim shadow. You remember only one thing with perfect clarity: Bahamut's command to go into the world and prove your devotion to the cause of good. If you prove worthy, on your death you will return to his side in your true form.
Please post a link to your character sheet (preferably a D&D Beyond one) below and as soon as we have 4 viable players I will create a private thread and we can get started.
Thank you!

DM | Tyranny of Dragons Jank-Dank | Forest Gnome Ranger | The Labyrinth
Class: Fighter(I picked these because I am very new to actually playing DND and wanted an easy class to start with. I have read the Players Handbook and watched many many episodes of Critical Role. I see a fighter has already applied so I am willing to try Barbarian if that would work better)
Alignment: Neutral
Background: Soldier
Chosen Bond from Table:
You have heard rumors that your close childhood friend, a half-elf named Talis, has been kidnapped by a strange group of dragon cultists. Your investigations into the cult have led you to the town of Greenest. You must save her!
Backstory: Grixx was a soldier in a Noble Lord's Army(Which Army and Lord is the DM's Choice). During the war with the local Goblin Tribes Grixx rose through the ranks known for his increasing ability with the blade. The longer Grixx served in the Army the more friends he lost to the Goblins. This caused Grixx to develop a deep hatred for Goblins which caused his tactics to become more vicious drove him to become a better warrior.
Grixx was hand selected by the Noble Lord to be part of his personal guard. Grixx was trained in the art of dual wielding which lead him to become a true fighter. During his time serving as the personal guard to the Lord he developed skills for reading the rooms and watching for dangers which is why he has increased perception and investigation.
Grixx and the Noble Lord grew close and the Lord trusted Grixx. Grixx was standing guard outside the Noble's bedroom when he developed a feeling something was off. He is not sure if he heard something or what caused him to become alert but he entered into the Lord's bedroom. He cautiously walked in and everything seemed to be alright. The Noble and his Wife were sound asleep in their bed. That is all Grixx remembers...
He woke up on the floor of the bedroom. He is not sure how much time had passed but it was still dark out. He quickly rose to investigate but found the Lord and his Wife dead in their beds with his swords covered in their blood. He panicked... Even if he could prove that he was framed he would still be put to death due to that being the punishment for a personal guard who allowed the Lord to die on his watch. Grixx took his swords and fled through the window. He escaped with only his armor and his swords. He would like to one day clear his name and return to his home but he is not sure how or where to start. Until he can figure that out, he tries to right wrongs to clear his own conscience.
Grixx has received word that his childhood friend Talis has been kidnapped. Grixx is seeking to rescue Talis and hopefully convince her that did not assassinate the Lords and possibly gain information to clear his name.
I don't have a single all PHB character made, so I had to make this character quickly. I'm filling in details still and I will finish it all up quickly!
Excellent ! I always wanted to play my Half-elf sorcerer if you accept :) (Shadow Magic Sorcerer, Follower of the Raven Queen) Might tweak the background to fit the campaign
BOND: 9. My character has been killed but brought back to life by the Raven Queen.... He still has so much to do...
Note: I am a DM (IRL) for my friend and wife and I'm playing in 2 other story led by awesome DM. Happy to help if needed.
Thanks RonanKP! Let me know when everyone has finalized their character's details and we will get started.
Grixx, you served and witnessed the death of the ruling noble of Berdusk, Oloneiros Urthardor. Berdusk is a relatively large city just to the Northeast of Greenest, the town where our campaign begins.
Just post "Ready" here when you are ready to get started and I'll create the thread and invite you all to it.
Chosen Bond from Table: When an orc raid drove your family from your home, the people of Greenest took you in. Anyone who threatens Greenest is your sworn enemy.
Backstory: Silk is a hunting guide using his skills at concealment and tracking to offer adventuring "experiences" to the wealthy. He tracks down vulnerable prey and sets up ambushes so his clients can obtain their adventuring trophies. On the side, when business is scarce, Silk will hunt down criminals or other persons of interest in cities for pay. When times are really hard, he will do Private Investigation work, uncovering people's secrets when on commission. Growing up on the streets of Greenest, Silk had to learn many lessons the hard way, and is no stranger to physical combat, but prefers to use small blades in melee as a last resort or ranged attacks to avoid getting to that point.
