Rhayna Nursk arrives at the village of Oakhurst from Candlekeep, holding her dear and trusted Journal by her side as always. The trip via carriage was uneventful, time which she used to read more regarding the legend of this Sunless Citadel. Stepping off the carriage, she squints her eyes slightly. She is not used to be outside that much. She spends most of her time in libraries or bookstores. Looking around the village, she finds it very quaint. She sighs that she won't be able to find any research facility here, so it is a good thing she brought all that she needed for this trip. Whatever tome she was able to find that might be of use for this assignment (self assigned that is). Rhayna fixes her glasses with her indicator finger (more for habit than anything) and she heads to the Inn to secure lodging and a place to put down her books.

Kaylyn followed the road into the village. This was the place she had been sent. It was still early morning and the place was buzzing with activity. She wandered the open stalls of the marketplace seeing the wares of the farmer's market. She quietly listened to the conversations that took place around her, gleaning information as she did so. Her good looks and pretty smile left people at ease around her and she was left in peace to listen and observe. Her elvish features were evident in her gracefulness and beauty yet the fact that she was partially human was also plain to see. She looked to be in her early 20's with average height and a lean, but not thin, build.
Her dark blue cloak swished silently as she moved about the village. She did not openly carry any weapons, only a single dagger hung from her belt, though she had others as well. A blue crystal hung from her neck on a silver chain. A closer examination showed it was set in a creature with draconic features that wrapped around the gem. Her traveling clothes were dirty from days on the road.
While purchasing a piece of fruit or watching children play she saw others in the village that didn't look like they belonged. This was a farming community and some people stood out from the others. But Midsummer Festival was only a tenday away that would draw outsiders.
Eventually she made for the inn. Interesting things happened at inns. Here is where the outsiders would gather but where also the locals would come to drink, trade rumors and talk.
Stepping into the inn she looks around and then approaches the desk to inquire about a room.
Kastix arrived edge of the village of Oakhurst, hopefully on hot on the heels of his bounty. After getting a quick lay of the village from afar, he pulls up his hood and cover his face as much as he can, walks into the village and starts asking around for any clues to lead him to his bounty with the Inn as his final stop so he can also inquired about a room for the night.

She listened to the conversations that took place around her, gleaning information as she did so...
Kaylyn overhears people talking about whether they are going to 'bid on the fruit' this year. There are apparently a few people who would like to, but fewer that could actually afford it, as it usually goes upward of 50gp. They also mention the indignity of having to barter with the goblins from the Sunless Citadel.
When you arrive at the inn, you notice there is already a stranger at the desk, although it's hard to make them out as their face is hooded, but you overhear the barkeep mention the Sunless Citadel, which you heard about in the market.
For Kastix:
The innkeeper greets you in his wheezy voice: "Come to wallow at the Ol' Boar have ye? Garon's the name, what can I do fer ye?" As you are making your inquiries, Garon mentions that there were a couple of adventurers here about a month ago, who went off with some locals to investigate a few problems. One of them sounds like he matches the description you've given - a human male, wilderness-type with a longbow. They were talking about checking on the goblins in the Sunless Citadel.
As you are talking you are aware of another stranger entering the inn, waiting for you to vacate the desk and possibly listening to your conversation
For Rhayna:
You note that the nearby shrine seems to be dedicated to Chauntea, the goddess of farming and fertility. Most of the locals appear to be human, with a fairly large minority of halflings. Other races are also present. There are at least 3 others around the central square that seem to be strangers to the village.
Rhayna walks into the Inn. Her bookish looks is apparent, and her glasses does not do her any favor. She prefers to look like a scholar anyway, so she usually dresses the part. Her hair is jet black, and it looks like she wears a matte dark purple lipstick. She wears a dark dress decorated with golden laces, and there is a pendant hanging from her left hip. It depicts the image of pair of eyes surrounded by seven stars. She heads to the front desk to inquire regarding lodging. She studies the two persons ahead of her. The town must be very busy with visitors.

Royan, a large, solidly built man, approaches the gates of Oakhurst. He had been following the road from Baldur's Gate for several days now and was looking forward to finding a place to wash off some of the dust from his journey. Still, he had a job to do; rest could come with the sunset. He took a moment to make sure his shirt was tucked in, dust off his trousers and straighten his vest. Over one shoulder was a cloak bearing a pin shaped like a gauntlet on fire. Any advantage he could use to help make his job easier he would take. Not wanting to look too intimidating, Royan stowed his shield behind his pack and made sure his sword was securely sheathed.
The town was busy, at least for a place like Oakhurst. He had visited many of the towns on the plains over the past few years, and they were usually sleepy places with just the ordinary goings-on of life. People trading, drinking in the evening. Farmers coming in to sell stock. Children playing. Older youth eyeing each other up. But the upcoming festival had brought some extra life to the town. People moved with purpose and energy. Still, it was nothing compared to the average evening in the Lower City.
Royan made his way through the gates, acknowledging the guard on duty (if there is one) and takes stock of what he can see. Two places immediately caught his attention: the guardhouse and the Inn. Either place would likely have been stops for Sir Braford. Royan knew that if he headed to the inn now, he would probably end up in that bath sooner than he intended, so decided to head to the guardhouse first.
As he enters the guardhouse, he takes a moment again to make sure the pin on his cloak is visible, then addresses the person who looks most like they are in charge. "Good day, friend. My name is Royan. I was hoping that you might be of some assistance. I am looking for a friend of mine who should have passed through this way a ten-day or so ago. His name is Sir Braford."
Kastix turns to the stranger while keeping one hand on his belt where he keeps his wand and dagger, looking them up and down. "Eavesdropping is quite rude you know? But let's be civil and just assume you wish to speak to Garon instead," He grabs his drink and seats himself in a near by table while keeping on eye on the stranger.

The person in charge appears to be a female half-elf seated at a crude desk wearing a cloth jerkin, and with two sheathed swords and a coat of chain mail hanging on a hook behind her. She looks you up and down with hard eyes as you extend your greeting, as if sizing up an opponent before battle, and seems impressed by at the same time un-intimidated by your size. Her voice is deeper than you might expect as she says somewhat sneeringly:
I take it your 'friend' was a Flaming Fist sort as well, was he? There was one here about a month ago, though he was too noble to even introduce himself to the guard. Probably your superior I'll wager - he certainly acted like everyone else's superior. At least you have some manners.
She pauses and then softens her tone just a little as she adds:
He didn't exactly leave a forwarding address, but I believe he and another foreigner joined up with a couple of locals that went to investigate a ruin not far from here. We haven't heard from any of them, though I'm more concerned about the Hucrele twins than your 'friend'. I hear the twins' mother has posted a reward for finding them - you might check with her at the general store. Good luck.
And with that she gives you what almost looks like a smile, and waves you away.

"Thank you. If I happen to come across any sign of the twins on my journey I will be sure to do what I can. I must, however, look for Sir Braford first though." Royan ducks his head and turns to leave. The ruins sounded promising. It is the type of place Sir Braford may have gone to in his investigations. Still best to ask around a little more first.
Royan makes his way toward the General Store. If others were going to the ruins, they may be of some assistance to him.
"I apologize but it was not my intent. I am just a traveler seeking a room for the night."
She allows the man to pass her by when he is finished at the desk.
After inquiring about a room with Garon she steps away from the desk and turning around seeks out the man and approaches his table.
"I wish to apologize for earlier, I was a bit rude and it was not my intent, but I think perhaps we may be able to help each other. I could not help but overhear your conversation with Garon and heard him speak of the Sunless Citadel. I seek this place and I believe our paths will cross again so perhaps we should share knowledge and aid each other and we can both see our tasks done. May I sit?"
The General Store seems to be manned by just one person - a middle-aged human female. She seems distant and distracted, and hardly acknowledges you as you enter - rather unusual for a village merchant, especially in response to a stranger.

Rhayna hears the exchange in front of her between a female Half-Elf and a Tiefling. She waits patiently for her turn to secure lodging. After the Half-Elf is done with the front desk, she pays for a week of lodging at the Inn. While dealing with Garon, she hears the Half-Elf mention about the Sunless Citadel, and that perks up her curiosity. My name is Rhayna Nursk. I am a seeker of knowledge, and my interest is of this "Citadel" that has been lost a very long time ago. I actually have done some research regarding this place, and perhaps that knowledge may assist with your quest. I imagine that there might be ancient information buried there that might be of use at our present time." She looks at the Tiefling. "I am not aware of any bounty, and I can assure you that whatever treasure you find there, is of little interest to me. I would be looking for a library in this Citadel, if there is one, or any place where I may find clues as to what happened to the Citadel."
Rhayna then turns to the Half-Elf. "You mentioned that it will be a dangerous journey. Well..., I once helped a couple of Candlekeep librarians get rid of a rat infestation from one of it's cellar. That was quite exciting. I hope that I will be ready if I need to help the group. Should danger present itself..." She says slightly nervous thinking of that episode of her life.
