Welcome, players! This is the official OOC thread for The Guardians of Kinloran and the Meer Ragnarok homebrew campaigns. This thread is designed for y'all to chit chat and talk meta. This OP will also be treated as a light repository for player-gained knowledge. The worlds of Er and Meer are vast and expansive, after all. Feel free to post artwork, add bits and pieces to your backstories, and whatever else you feel like doing.
As a member of the Vordr, you know of only one deity whose influence has actually reached the mortal realm in recent times, and it so happens to be the same deity that all members of the Vordr, in some way, revere or respect at the patron of their order. Her name is Ria, the Goddess of Light, and her ancient enemy is Amu, the Shape Out of Darkness. Other civilizations tend to worship their own deities, some making gods out of venerated heroes from past generations, others crafting divine influence for political gain. There are many dark gods that the Vordr know, though fortunately their affect on the physical realm is stringently limited. This is likely the extent of your knowledge as a character, though you of course are welcome to message me on discord to work out a more specific and intimate knowledge if you would like a gameplay that leans heavily on faith and religion.
OOC though, belief is power within Er. The more who believe in a god, the greater their power. If none believe, they cease to exist. The Vordr exist to keep the eternal memory of Ria and Amu. In character, no one is likely to have figured out that if everyone just stops believing in a god they cease to exist, but more learned travelers and long-lived sages may have some notion of this aspect of the world.
I'm glad! Everyone seems to be enjoying it so far, which is excellent; the campaign is only going to get better and more interesting from this point. One thing I'd like everyone to sort of keep in mind going forward... This isn't really D&D. The setting draws more heavily on historically-based depictions of monsters throughout human cultures, and often leans more toward the traditional and realistic side than the fantastic side. Rather than the likes of Ravenloft, Forgotten Realms or Eberron, Kinloran maintains an identity closer to that of the real planet Earth. The standard assumptions one might make of goblins, kobolds, and trolls are simply put inapplicable here: The monster manual will not guide you - FLT and Demonic Paradise are to be the player's best friends, and the ever-changing Ar Leabhar Ollpheist (to access the book, click the red "read the document" button in the upper-right).
Velima has the ability to speak with beasts as part of her druid circle.
Speech of the Woods
At 2nd level, you gain the ability to converse with beasts and many fey.
You learn to speak, read, and write Sylvan. In addition, beasts can understand your speech, and you gain the ability to decipher their noises and motions. Most beasts lack the intelligence to convey or understand sophisticated concepts, but a friendly beast could relay what it has seen or heard in the recent past. This ability doesn’t grant you friendship with beasts, though you can combine this ability with gifts to curry favor with them as you would with any nonplayer character.
Have the wolves done or said anything that she would have picked up on?

Sounds great, first question, what does the pantheon look like in this world? (For divine casters and those who choose to be faithful)
