Name: Karl Blackfawn Race: Human Class: Rogue Background: Criminal/Spy
Karl grew up in the Dock Ward of Waterdeep with his father, a rough dock hand who often set him to begging or stealing, and an indifferent mother. He learned the trade early in his life, but it was only after he left the family home and started going on crew jobs that he started considering himself a professional, even if he was the youngest and least skilled in the crew.
It all went bad when his crew was hired to hit a caravan supposedly carrying a valuable artifact. Karl was attacked and captured by a group of drow who were also after the artifact. They kept him alive to make use of his knowledge of the area, unwillingly becoming part of a new crew, only this one enjoyed killing a little too much. When he unsuccessfully tried to desert a few seasons later, he was sent to the Underdark.
Karl wasn't sure why he was still alive, but he will not stay a prisoner for long.
Valkar is no stranger to being mistreated. He was discovered by a Transmutation wizard as baby and raised to be his servant. Being a gnome he was always inclined to tinker and intelligent enough to be a decent assistant to his masters experiments. He may even have enjoyed his life if his master were not so cruel. In secret when the master was asleep Valkar would rummage through the library "cleaning" but studying magic and the histories of magic. This went on for some time and Valkar had aquired a good deal of magical knowledge but lacked skill and experience to be a good wizard. His master had discovered him and tried to punish the little gnome. He took the beating but had devised a way to escape because his master did not know that he had actually picked up some level 1 spells and so he was able to break free and make a run for it. While on the run he had been hiding in caves on the outside of civilization.
Autumn grew up as a very happy child in a secluded village in the deep woods. She explored the wonders of nature, the only rule was she could not go into the "Endless Cave" near her home. She obeyed, but it always rankled her.
As she grew older she was initiated into the druid mysteries and learned that not all parts of the world were as blessed as this one. She became convinced her duty was to bring good into the world.
Upon her coming of age, she decided to explore the "Endless Cave", despite the warnings. Unfortunately the cave was open to the underdark, and she got lost, and was captured by a drow raiding party, who took her prisoner and sold her as a slave.
Sarah lived on the streets of her home town, alone, with no place to call home. She struggled to prove herself in the different groups she joined, but was always to weak, or two slow. She eventually realized she had a skill for lying, and deceitfulness, which she used to barely scrape out a life for herself. This world of deceit look away her ability to trust others. Eventually a certain entity took interest in her, an old entity who enjoyed studying different people, and she was interesting to it, so the old entity trapped her within a dream and made a deal, as long as he would allow herself to be observed and studied, he would offer a portion of power to her, and the way he radiated with energy proved he was not lying, so she accepted the deal, and in the morning woke up with a strange orb an odd feeling, a powerful feeling. With her abilities she managed to do even better in the world of deceit she had chosen to live. Eventually however, it caught up to her, and on a fateful evening she was betrayed, stabbed in the back and left to die. She passed out in the old mud of the ground mixed with her blood. When she woke up it was on a comfy couch, in a nice looking building, well lit with torch’s and a warm fire. She struggled to get up before a pain shot through her chest forcing her back against the couch, then, a man walked into the room. She glared wondering who he was, he smiled, and Sarah didn’t, couldn’t trust it, but deep down it felt genuine. He set a plate of food down, something that appeared to be a real meal, with actual meat. She was surprised, but, their had be a great motive here, no one was this generous for nothing, but he was, he let her stay night, only asking a few questions and not forcing her to answer any she didn’t want to. The next day she choose to leave, she still was unsure but, she tried to pay the kind man, who simply refused. She was confused but decided not to think anything of it and left wearing a cloth mask. On the streets she learned a surprising revelation, she was assumed dead. At first Sarah though this could be a good opportunity for new deceitful tactics, but then a small thought formed in her mind, what she, stayed dead to this world, and left it. The thought refused to leave her mind and when the day ended she went back to the kind mans house, he was still just as friendly as before, and even offered her an available room, she excepted, and as the years went by she began to live this new life under a new identity, then eventually, she became married, and had kids, 2 lovely children, she was content with her new life, but eventually something would force her back into the world of deceit. Debt, her new husband was in a sea of debt and Sarah, knew only one way to make that amount of money, so she turned to older methods, using her new identity to make sure her family didn’t get to involved, and with that she became an adventurer set out to strike rich to save her family.

Dain was a master craftsmen in his clan, blessed by Moradin to pretty much create anything he wanted at the forge. His perfectionist attitude led him through many assistants, and eventually led to him wanting more. Never satisfied with his work, he left his clan to travel and find other techniques and spread his own craftsmanship around.
Eledon was born in a High Elf city deep within the woods as the youngest of four children. His childhood was chaotic if only because his elder brothers would constantly get into fights with him or pit him against one of the other brothers. Because of this he toughened up quick and, because his older brothers were constantly beating on him, learned to take a hit. And because two of elder brothers as well as his father served in the city's militia, Eledon felt that it was his duty to his family to serve as well. While his last brother went with his mother to study the theory of magics and sorcery at some distant library far away from their woods.
It was there in the militia that Eledon learned how to fight and carry himself like a man, how to defend himself and get stronger. The training regiment to get into the militia was rigorous and exhausting, an ordeal that lasted half a year before a final test. Once inside, Eledon went through another training course where he learned of all the divisions in the city's militia. One part in particular were the guards of the city, the division his father commanded, and another among others was one that scouted out into the woods surrounding the city and fended it off from encroaching monstrosities while also expanding the influence of the city and forcing nearby villages to pay taxes and for the governors of those towns or villages to become vassals of the Lord and Lady.
During a particular mission, where his platoon was ordered to drive out a nearby orc encampment, he kept hearing these strange laughs as they traversed the woods, but simply assumed it was nothing more than fey. As they engaged with the orcs however, things were turning sour. They were outnumbered, the orcs having only recently had their numbers bolsted by reinforcements. They pushed hard against the orcs but as their numbers were falling, and as soon as Eledon fell to a nasty wound, he called out in prayer for anything that would hear him, any being that would help their cause.
But nothing came and they were crushed. Eladon and a few other survivors were left behind as the orcs moved towards their city where they would lay siege for several months until they were eventually crushed in a decisive battle outside the city walls. Feeling ashamed for the loss, and feeling as though he let his family down, Eladon left the camp where he was being healed and ran off into the nearby country, coming across a Circle of druids. He explained what happened, and they offered him to join them for dinner where he learned about their druidic ways and how they were a force for peace rather than for greed or personal gains.
Liking what he was hearing, he joined them and learned their ways and their sorcery, and once he learned all he could, he left to wander the wider world to find not only atonement for the botched mission as a soldier, but for himself as well.

Darrin - Half Orc - Draconic Sorcerer - Folk Hero
ddb.ac/characters/16739036/g2dekM
Darrin is a straight forward sort. When trouble came to his small town, he met it head on. He wasn’t armed, and wouldn’t have known much about how to use a weapon even if he’d had one, so he simply grabbed a 2’x4’, and ran for the trouble.
The “trouble” being a shadowy beast which was eating the local guards. Now Darrin wasn’t gifted with magic back then, so his charge was near suicidal, and he knew it. But that’s what needed done, so he did it. He beat the creature about the head, and tripped it. He bought time for the guard to regroup, and for others to run for help.
Darrin doesn’t remember much after that. He woke on a cot set up in the town hall. The guard captain and a strange elf were standing over him. The elf was inspecting a wound on Darrin’s chest. He then cut his palm, placed it against Darrin’s wound, and in a moment the wound was gone. Only a strange scar remained. The elf told him to be careful with the gift he was given, and that he’d see Darrin again in the future. Then he left.
Soon after, Darrin began experiencing the magic of the blood that was mingled with his own. His skin became harder like metal. He found he could speak a language he’d never heard before. Magic reached out from his fingertips without ever studying, as wizards do. It simply felt like breathing, or maybe closer to being like swimming.
Darrin came to believe that if he were to hide his gift under a bushel, it would be a terrible waste, and considered offensive even, to the elf. So he has gone to make his way in the world, and do as much good as he can. Doing so appears to have landed him in some trouble. And now they’ve taken him down, down... down
Last Tree Standing was a hunter and a talented chef for the Clan of the Red Leaf, never giving much thought to the outside world. One day a band of dwarf refugees came into the clan's territory seeking shelter from their enemies. Lastree was fascinated by such odd creatures. Even odder creatures soon appeared, a band of ogres. Unfortunately, the ogres were there to kill the dwarves, and when the Tabaxi clan tried to mediate between them, the ogres turned on them, too. The ogre warriors drove the Tabaxi out of their territory, and the clan broke up into small bands planning to travel or join other clans. Before they left, Lastree endeared herself to the remainder of the clan by creating a huge amount of an especially delicious stew, and using it to lure a young dragon into the area. The Tabaxi had lost their lands, but at least the Ogres would not enjoy it. Lastree dreams of one day reuniting the scattered Clan of the Red Leaf, when she is strong enough to eliminate the ogres (and the dragon) now living in their forest.

Ingot has spent most of its existence killing. Never personal, just that the coin earned in fighting has always been good. It was built for it anyway, so might as well make a 'living' with what its good at. Ingot surmises it should probably be concerned it hasn't found any other purpose in 'life' than taking the lives of others. But with how long its been running at this point and how the wars of the other races never stop, why start worrying? The next town will have an inn so it can stay out of the rain and so long as lords and ladies need battles fought Ingot will always have coin to spend.
Backstory: The Darkhall family has had a strong presence within the Temple of Tyr for many generations. Raised within the faith from an early age, Darak's discipline and training have instilled within him an unwaivering sense of duty and justice. A dark, unspoken of curse besets the Darkhall family, however. Their service and faith acting as atonement for the sins of their ancestors.
Trained in the arts of war by his father, Darak wields his family's ancestral blade "Onyx" into battle. A masterfully made longsword with a black blade, it is said to be cursed, but holds great power for any of the Darkhall bloodline that can unlock its true nature.
In loyal service to Tyr and the Realm, Darak fights with a group known as the Deep Wardens. Those few that forever stand vigilant guard over the deadly entrances to The Underdark. Locked in eternal battle with the denizens of the Deep, the Wardens are all that stand between the lands of Men and the Monsters that lurk just underneath.

Name: Samori Softall
Race: Human
Class: Monk
Background: Haunted one
Backstory:
Samori was born to poor but loving parents. She grewup playing in the fields surrounding the village, listening to the stories told by the monks from the monastry in the mountain above. Her mother and father were the village carpenter and baker respectivly and as she got older she helped her mother with the carvings and simple woodwork which made up the bulk of her mothers work. When Samori was 12 she and her friends were playing in the nearby forest and they discovered an arch leading into a long mound, her friends thought it might have been opened by the rains a few day before. All except the youngest(who was told to stay outside) decided to go exploring, they never find where the arch and ensuing corridor ultimately lead. As they passed through an arched doorway crystals set into the walls began to glow lighting the room they had entered, in the middle of the room was a large suite of plate armour, the oldest of the group stepped forward after a moments heitation to examin the armour, he turned to tell the others that it was okay when the door behind them slamed shut and the armours eyes lit up. he didn't get another word out as the golem rased it's fist and crushed him. One by one they died until Samori was the only one left, the golem returned to the middle of the rome and it's eyes slowly dimmed. after what felt like hours the door clicked and she fled through the door. She got back to the village just as the villagers were assembling to search for her and her friends. She broke down and through her tears she managed to tell the villagers what had happened and they left, their search party became a hunting party and they followed her tracks back to the mound but could not find any arch or opening. They did find the childrens foot prints where they entered the mound cut cleanly in half by the apparently solid mound. Afterwards Samori became quite and withdraw, her sleep plagued by nightmares and her days fearing she would return to that room. She took solace in the atmosphere of the monastry and it's library. At the suggestion of the Abbess her parents alowed her to be trained in the fighting arts of the monastry to help in her recovery, first they taught her to meditate on her fears, her anger and her memories with the aim of grounding her mind and centering herself. A year and a half later she left the monastry and returned home to her parents, and for a time she was happy again, but she began to feel like she did not fit back into her old life. She returned to the monastry and asked to join the order. After some debate over whether she had healed and was making this decision herself or if her past was still ruling her. In the end the Abbess agreed to her joining the order. For the next nine years she committed herself fully to the order, excelling in the more physical aspects of her training. Although she continued her spiritual training she never did fully grasp the concepts. She became known for her even handed dealings with others, protecting those who were weaker from physical confrontations but leaving them to their own devices if she thought they could handle the issue themselves. She continued her studies learning to read and write in common, orcish and undercommon to better understand the knowledge contained in the library. She learned many things concerning magic and magical constructs, of the planes and the denizens there in. She also learned a considerable amount concerning the gods and the legends surrounding them. At 22 she was called to speak with the abbess, she was told that whilst she had made great strides in her recoverey she was still haunted by those terrible events and the monastery had done all it could. A pang of horror shot Samori, she was being cast out after all this time. The Abbess could see this on her face a told her that she was not being cast out but rather she needed to find her own solution, she was still a member of the order and was still welcome in the monastry but her path, and answers, lay elsewhere. Samori left the abbess and went to her sleeping quarters, she sat on her bed and thought momentarily, then with a nod to herself she started packing her meager possessions. Within the hour she had reached her village and stopped to say goodby to her parents before settiong off, with one last look at the monastery samori turned and walked into the distance.

Name: Larceny
Race: Tiefling
Class: Rogue
Background: Urchin
Born to unknown parents Larceny was raised in a small orphanage in Neverwinter. She quickly learned that she had to take care if herself. The weak we're stepped on, but the strong and clever could take what they wanted. So she did. Never an honest day in her life, Larceny became a pickpocket, and over the years showed a natural talent for the skill. She would occasionally leave money at the orphanage for "Granny" the old dwarven woman who ran the orphanage, and the only one to show any real kindness to Larceny.
As she grew older her thefts grew more daring, and mare dangerous. She stole from a nobleman and soon had the entire city guard on her tail. Unwilling to be locked up again, she left the city through some contacts in the thieves guild. Still followed by some particularly determined members of the guard she went down into the underdark hoping to lose them or at least theem down. Things only got worse from there when she encountered the drow.

Name: Ingot
Race: Warforged
Class: Fighter
Background(includes backstory): Soldier
Ingot has spent most of its existence killing. Never personal, just that the coin earned in fighting has always been good. It was built for it anyway, so might as well make a 'living' with what its good at. Ingot surmises it should probably be concerned it hasn't found any other purpose in 'life' than taking the lives of others. But with how long its been running at this point and how the wars of the other races never stop, why start worrying? The next town will have an inn so it can stay out of the rain and so long as lords and ladies need battles fought Ingot will always have coin to spend.

Name: Sir Darak Darkhall (Sheet)
Race: Human(Variant) Feat: Shield Master
Class: Paladin
